I am relativily new to these boards but I have been with Nightmist for almost three years now. Although most of you don't know me, I am in fact a very good writer (when properly motivated and with a spell check tool! ^_^ ). I am currently write at a 12.9 reading level but I am able to adjust my writing levels depending on the preferences of the community. I did apply for the position last time it was brought up, but unfortunately, did not recieve the position.

In fact, I still have the original article I used to apply for on my harddrive. If anyone decides to restart this program, I'd be happy to submit my prior piece or a new piece for their review.

Oh, and, I work for free.

Kind of old post, but I have to reply. Saw was the best. I loved the ending. Whoever would have thought the killer was.

Hmm, whats this in my pocket?

P2P. A shiver runs down my spine when I hear that acronym. My incredible hate for it is why I'm not playing Everquest or Neverwinter Nights. When I first came to Nightmist, I loved the simplistic gameplay and the many amazing aspects of it's internal mechanics. 2 1/2 years, 6 clans, 1 account theft (my fault), and 1232 collective deaths by players, I have come to love the phenomenon that is Nightmist. Although I disagree with the idea of P2P, I do realize thst the immense costs of runnign this server, so I do suppose that Nightmist II should be P2p. Unfortunataly, I do not have the means of conveying money to JLH, even if it is only fifty cents US. Unfortunataly, I do believe that in the transition to Nightmist II, you will lose many players, myself included. I do hope that you will at least leave Nightmist I alone, even if it is running off of a second server. This situation truly is dire, but to those who don't mind payment, leave us old veterans behind in the ruins of the old Nightmist.

Well, I figured out the whole database thing. It was actually pretty simple. (To Europa, I am using BASIC code to do it, by the way.) Just a little tedious to store data in each field.

Anyways, my friend has voluntered to let me use his Broadband to let me get Netframe and Netframe SDK, so I'm hoping by the end of the week that I'll be able ti begin programming in C#.

Also, I've heard of the function of a DLL file. Would it be useful to go ahead and try to link what I've done in VB, or should I just start from scrap?

Oh, and by the way, If anyone wants to help a newbie on a game project, just contact me!

Edit: Oh, and, besides machine (binary) code and ASM langauges, what would be the fastest runnign Language. I believe its C#, but then again, this is coming from the person who can't even display another form. ^_^

Also, another question about VB. You know how the monsters in Nighmist attack and you attack them back? How do you get them to do that in real time, not by initiating a turn-based combat (i.e. Final Fantasy). I'm trying to figure out how to do that, but once again, my book sucks. I really regret wasting that 35$ on that stupid book. Oh, well, now I know not to by More Visual Basic for Dummies
