Boss Difficulty
The star system used to rate a boss' difficulty is an approximation of how tough the boss is from player experience. Use it as a guide to decide if you feel you are able to take on the boss in question with the characters that you possess.
Silver stars dictate the difficulty of a mini-boss, whereas gold stars are for bosses; the difficulty ratings they represent are approximately equivalent.
Star Rating | Name | Example | Description |
---|---|---|---|
1-star | Elshira | Easy boss. Can easily be taken down by a single high-level crit or a small team of low-level crits. | |
2-star | Giant Sand Wurm | Standard boss. One of the most common boss ratings; these bosses tend to have a lot of health but otherwise are not that much of a threat. A single crit might be able to take down such a boss, but it will take a very long time. Most of the time, a small group of high-level crits with a Cleric will have no problem at all. There are some exceptions with self-healing bosses though, so play it by ear. | |
3-star | Time Knight | Tough boss. These bosses start to mean business when it comes to their combat tactics. Quite a large group of mid-level crits will be required for such bosses; more than one Cleric is recommended as well. | |
4-star | Blue Dragon | Hard boss. These bosses are bred to kill and they make it known! Multiple Clerics and a large party of high-level crits are definitely recommended. For multi-alt users, consider taking a companion to ease the burden somewhat. | |
5-star | Imhotep | Very hard boss. A large party of high-level crits will still find this boss difficult and the users will require concentration throughout the entire fight. A single multi-alt player will struggle against such an adversary. | |
Flashing 5-star | Resca | Extremely hard boss. Very few bosses of this calibre exist, and for good reason; their sheer strength and power make it impossible for a single player to fight them (on the multi-alt server). At least 2 players, or 40 powerful crits, are highly recommended, with at least eight Clerics in the group; even then you are likely to suffer some casualties. Good luck. |
Restricted Bosses
Some bosses are restricted to certain levels, classes or party sizes, or a mixture. In these cases the difficulty is adjusted accordingly and may not reflect what the boss is like versus a regular party of high-level crits of a variety of classes. It is, nonetheless, a guide to how difficult the boss is for the crits that can face it.
