No. The automatic program is what got you banned, duffus.

Just simply making a character and getting the 200 gold, isn't against any rule (that I've ever seen).

Am sure Pandilex can find it in his heart to 'perm' ban you for it however.

lol.. that is a lot to go through.. now back when reguler nintendo was still a hit there was an old game called wizardy. it made it really easy to accumulate money by making and deleting crits...

I think you'll find they quite obviously did. Any type of automated process can be detected and you'll be banned if it is.

I would expect this is legal but I'm not the person to say.

oh and wes, seeing as automated programs are illegal, does a macro/spammer thingy fall under that category? I was thinking of using one just to run me from once place to another cuz runnning is sorta boring ya know? just wondering before I do it cuz yeah I don't want to get banned

I made an automatic program that did this, made about 100k. Next day went to logon account and it was banned, so yes, it IS illegal.

Don't take credit for James work...Infact its quite lame you can't code something like this and have to take credit for things other ppl did.

I doubt 'james' wants his name put on the forum.. Someone has been perm ban for making and distributing (to his good friends) a small rolling program that answered the questions and could actually roll for a specific set of stats - Although that was a while ago, since then John has put a bit more protection against roller programs.

Unfortunatly for him though, It leaked - And that is what got him ban.

Too bad JLH cannot put some type of better protection against automated programs. There are some VERY nice automated programs for nightmist right now that would not be detectable unless something really screwed up happened. Fortunatly for Nightmist, most of these really good programs are kept by their maker or distributed to a VERY limited amount of people that the person trusts highly, and for the most part, they arnt used.

Anyone remember the old megatraveller game? was around about 1992... there was a class called a scout which had really crap stats but you could remain in service till you were over 90 years old (unlike army/navy where you normally had to muster out at 30-40)... building up TONS of gold so you went

For anyone that didnt know the game... the career bit (scout/army ect) was done in a roller-sort of way... the actual game you use retired characters..

So, rolling one main character and four scouts (party size was 5), transferring gold, dismissing the scouts, rolling up another four scouts, transferring gold and so forth then finally rolling 5 decent characters, was a VERY quick way to earn gold (2 scouts usually earned enough to equip your whole party with best armour/weapons.... ten scouts and you had best ship weapon in game)

Now this was profitable...... but as for nm... 200 gold???????

Yes Rick got perm banned for making the roller, and John already knows James made the program so I doubt he will be particularly bothered.

Your just mad becuase you can't code, becuase you are a newb. Also you say NightMist sucks badly, very badly, yet you play it why? I think it is time for you to shut the moose up already, your annoying and immature.
