New Event . Capture The Flag

i think everyone knows what capture the flag is

1 alts only, lvl 25+ crits to enter. first team to capture 5 flags wins.

its a team effort. teams are decided right before the event starts. when you enter the mosh and teams are decided your automatically get localled to the flag your guarding.

when the events over you are automatically localled in boars tusk

there should be an item thats labled Blue Flag, Red flag.

you pick up flags like you would potions/mana. but the flag has a 100% drop rate and is unequiptable. so as soon as you die the flag drops.

when a enemy team has the flag all members of the other team will be notified So and so has the Blue/red flag.

first team to 3 - 5 flags captured wins.

whats yall think?

added info, Theres only 2 teams. if theres a odd number of people on the odd number person gets randomly added to one of the two teams.

I'm all for new events if they are done correctly.

It would be cool, that i must admit, but i think the events should be more medieval like and have a good story line behind it, even tho its hard to make a story for a regular event.

To add to this plan, and Cule's plan of making it medievil it will be called:

KILTURE THE FLAG!

Same things as his only not flags, use like a really really good weapon (ie Bot! YAY) but with the same rules that sourcream stated, not equipable and junk. The twist will be, if you die with the BoT in your possession it will have a waiting period, 3-4 secs or so.

Edit: Also their should be some kinda prize for getting killed relentlessly :unsure:

Heh, paintball applied to NM, kinda cute.

I see a few problems with it though. If the flag is just laying on one end of the field and you have to pick it up and run to your home base, the fastest runner will get it, since it's kind of hard to attack someone who is just flying by, so you would have to slow moving down somehow.

Okay, I've been thinking about this for a while now. How exactly do we get a turn based Nightmist? And how would a turn based Nightmist work at all in an event that is entirely fixated on PK'ing?

Call me senile.. But "1 alts" implies 2 characters. An alt is an alternative character. You mean to say '1 character'.

As for the idea, there have been better suggestions for events within Nightmist that haven't made it in.. Sorry, just not cutting it.

the idea was mainly to have funn for a change and not a killing spree mosh.

just thought sometimes Funn is better then brawling all the time

+ its a team effort which means you can rely on. makes since that you rely onyour team then on your own strength.

Maybe for the character holding the flag, he/she could be suspended on each square for 1-2 seconds, that way he slows down.

Supported. I think the flag should have a drain rate on stamina though, sort of like a coverted thief. They can only go so far before their stamina drops to 0 and they have to wait for a recharge. This forces them to choose whether to go one at a time and be able to fight, run like crazy and then have to wait, or take it slow and let the stamina regenerate as you creep. If you hate this idea then sorry x.x Just trying to think of a way to make it work.

I have a small question... what's to stop a player picking up their own flag to stop the opponents taking it?

I like the idea, especially since it is team-play, but I think players will be running too fast for anyone to attack them (especially if they are carrying the opponent's flag - running should be the only thing on their mind).

when a team member pick up his own flag it automatically returns to its mount.

but when you have the flag. you can only move 1 square every other second. soo peoplehave enough time to defend there flag..

the only way to successfully capture a flag is if yourflag hasnt beenpicked up by the opposing team.. for example.


i go get the opposing team's flag im running back to my home base to my flag pole.. if my flag isnt there i cannot make a successful capture. i have to wait until the flag is returned by a player or if it returns by itself.. oh yeah if the your flag is dropped and lays on the ground for 5 - 10 secs it automatically returns to its mount.

also i wouldnt mine seeing another game,

summit like Possession, every1 starts of at diffrent parts of the arena, 1 character per IP and no parties, a skull is placed in the middle of the arena, the idea is 2 get the skull in ure inventory and keep the skull for aslong as u can, the target is to hold the skull for 3mins or something like that, wen u die u drop the skull and r respawned were u started with a 3 second period were u cant move or b killed. When sum1 picks up the skull it alerts the rest of the arena who has it and there picture is changed to a skull, also they cannot use there weapon or any magic while holding the skull.

How about if you can only pick up the flag when the square is empty, also the flag loccalling thing would thn be out. Though you could local elsewhere in the arena maybe?

well in this game its not about killing every one its about getting their flag to your home base .. Soo whenever you kill someone they are not out of the game they just respawn on their flag mount. and the only way to do that is to have a local at your home flag.

And if your on blue team and you try and local at red team flag then a message wioll appear saying your not a member of the red team viseversa

When to players meet on a square a battle starts. You cant go north east south or west but you can do /flee then you it would charge you 150 hp to flee a battle or something.

that might complicate things somewhat..

and it wouldnt be needed.

I do support the Stamina Drain while you have the flag. that seems fair.
