Right ok, after talking to an un-named person about looking into the laser of an optical mouse and not being able to see, i decided to go outside and hold my eyelids open so i could look at the sun. At first i saw big yellow and red splotches, but now my sight is just off.

Has anyone else done this just because you knew you werent suposed to? Just taken a 5 minute peek at the forbidden laser light under your optical mouse or stared at the sun? Im curious! :P

'tis not worth the consequences - it's just not that important. Though I don't think anyone can help but glance at such things for a second from time to time (on purpose or by accident).

Humans do not have the reflex action for nothing. Your eye focuses the sunlight (or laser light) down to a small point on the back of your retina and eventually burns it.

And NEVER look at the sun through binoculars or a telescope with the naked eye or with a filter. To give you an idea of the hazard, if you hold a piece of paper under the eyepiece, it will burst into flames.

Gawd, two, you really shouldn't give people ideas like that, because you know there are enough people here who will believe it and actually try. Do you want to be responsible for people going blind (even if they are dimwitted fools)?
