Maybe the monsters should have a health bar under their picture to help see how much you got him killed. Also they should have a health and total health setup like the character (such as health/total health) by the healthy condition/slightly wounded/moderately wounded/mortally wounded part whenever you look them over. That would be a lot more helpful than just seeing the health condition whenever you look them over.

When you fight other players can you see their health bar?
No.

Want to know why? Because you cannot tell by looking at someone or something EXACTLY how healthy they are.

Thats why when you look players and monsters over you get the "healthy condition" "mortally wounded" and whatnot... its a general idea of how they are.

If your friend looks ill in real life you might think "god, they look terrible today" but you wouldn't look at them and go "Ah, 3/120, no wonder they're looking awful" ... or at least I'd hope you wouldn't
When your hamsters running around in its cage you might think "gee its energetic today" but you hopefully wouldn't think "wow, health bar in the green, 50/50, thats one heealthy hamster"

You don't KNOW exactly how healthy anything is.
That's the point. That information is something you don't know, will not know, and so cannot estimate as you fight it.

You would notice if the thing started stooping, looked noticably injured (hence the slight, mod, mort) but you wouldnt know how much its health was falling.

You wouldn't know.

No

Unsupported. I can foresee people using this to steal boss kills (i.e. waiting until only a few hundred HP are left, and then attacking with covert thieves, for example, and thus taking the drop). And also, I do not think people will bother looking at it when facing weaker monsters like Bears, because they die relatively quickly anyway.

I think the vague health indicator that already exists is fine... Healthy: > 90%; Slightly: 60%-90%; Moderately: 30%-60; Mortally: < 30%.

I don't like the idea very much...

Giving the 'fighter' class the ability to see exact hp on a monster could be something interesting. A skill like 'Assess' or something. It could develope as the fighter got higher level to say more or whatever about their HP/status, but it really doesn't seem like something we need in Nightmist.

It's so people can spy on the boss till it gets within a couple thousand HP, then come running in. It'd make boss stealing even worse than it is now.

Completely against it in any form.. Sorry.

I could perhaps see some kind of item that let's you see:

Very Healthy condition
Healthy condition
Hardly wounded
Slightly wounded
Rather wounded
Moderatley wounded
Significantly wounded
Mortally wounded.

You would just need to take the differences in the current system and split them in half.

But this makes it even easier to steal boss kills so really this is no improvement. (I have way too much time on my hands)

Hamsters are alive, hence they have health.

It was just an example. If there were a hamster in real life you wouldn't see a little health bar flashing over its head telling you how healthy or ill it were
If there were a hamster in nightmist, there shouldnt be one either.

Maybe it'll make more sense if I edit it and make it nightmisty :P

When your hamsters <Mutant Rat> is running around in its cage <sewer> you might think "gee its energetic today" but you hopefully wouldn't think "wow, health bar in the green, 50/50, except for the mutation thats one heealthy hamster <Mutant Rat>"

oh ok.. gotcha.. ty for putting it in better terms for me. :P I don't know what i would do without you.

But anyways good point, It would be pointless to have a healthbar over the enemies/monsters head.

A demonic soldier taps you on the shoulder.
A demonic soldier says: Hit me one more time, my hp is 12/250.

I think not. No need for hp bars on monsters, it's fine as is.

I don't like the idea, I think it's good just being able to see roughly how injured the monster is from the lookover atm.
