I think thieves should have the ability to /spy player, and be listed with the items within that players inventory. They should be able to /steal item item item/player. The more items they try to steal, the less likely they are to succeed.
Then their assassinate should be renamed 'backstab', and the damage kept about the same.
OR...
They should be called Assasins, they should lose their stealing ability. Their hp should be higher, but their armor a little lower. When they attack someone from covert the Assassinate should be a 50% 1 hit kill, but ALWAYS do damage, but only from covert.
When assassinate from open view, they should have a chance to miss, but also a big chance to do high damage. 1 hit kills would be a lot less successful.

I voted fighter. Simply look at how many people go into triplex on a fighter, barely any, and those that do probably use the fighters because it's all they have. When have you last seen a fighter win any tournaments? The fact that nobody wants to play them anymore should be proof enough that they need improving.

When have you last seen a fighter win any tournaments? The fact that nobody wants to play them anymore should be proof enough that they need improving.

I can't comment on pallies, since the only pally I have is too low lvl to give me an idea about how well they stand.

Maybe there should've been a "None of them" option..or maybe there is one and I missed it.
Anyway, if I were forced to pick a class, I would ask that fighters be given some abilities...they are just kind of too simple in my opinion. If berserkers are basically just insane naked men and women running around with a big axe hacking and they get two abilities, surely a fighter, trained in fighting, should have some kind of skill.

seems like pallys/fighters is a popular choice to make better the new sword seems to have been a fairly weak attempt to balance them, although i gotta say fighters with cobalts are fairly good.

Fighters, there have been suggestions of stances and such...how would you update the pallys? Read this whole post before you say how please, PRETTY PLEASE. Flaming doesn't bother me, but to flame without knowing what I said would be rather unfair. ;p
From what I'm looking at-
-They have spells that enhance themselves and party members a lot.
-They can use the 3 best weapons in game (cobalt, BoT, and sovereign sword---unless you say hawk talon is better than bot).
-They can heal themselves and others.
-They get to equip pretty much the best armor--just like fighters pretty much. As I understand it, -6.
So basically, they are excellent for fighting in 1v1s and they are a great class to have around if you want to be able to slip in high spells that don't wear as quickly as RF or if you want to be able to tack on a small extra heal.
What are you guys suggesting they should get so that they're better?
Hit harder to make fighters completely pointless? (6 stam yes, but they can't spell themselves--5 stam is as much as 6 if you get extreme dex or high str + zerks took 6 stam already)
Or raise their heal to make clerics un-needed?
Unless someone can suggest some kind of better way of updating them that doesn't ruin another class or make them entirely overpowered...I don't think they should be modified.
I will say this much in their case. They do not make sense for all players. I don't have one. They simply they don't make sense for me to use. Good abilities but I like other hitters and clerics.

I didn't vote. I say leave em as they are. If ya don't like em don't play em. You if you like em and feel they are over powered by other classes then maybe you should make some game changes of your own. No everything is created nor should be equal.
