The hardest part isn't mana for me, it's HP. I much prefer training Mages as a solo type class, which causes alot of problem, hense the HP.
All you really have to do is find a nice small area, near to a pub, and keep running back and forth.. Mindless, but worth it (I think).
Here's an idea, get a map (or make your own) of the grassy path, and go slaughter everything there, Brown Bears are the hardest (unless you get near the Tunnels, then Orcs n Granites), and they're even pretty easy. You'll make enough gold, plus you'll get alright exp (not the best, but it should do).
Let us know how it goes.

That's where I'm doing the Master right now. If you work it right, you need not use any other crit bar the Mage, just got to know how (or be crazy enough).i was thinking staying in Silversail. just use 100 gold to refresh everytime you need it, and go on scorps/vipers or whatever is around. of course you'll need a cleric and stuff too.. but i was thinking that at level 20+.

I think most of the games lvl 30 mages were trained back when Jahanna existed or when Sarka had regular xp. I don't know of many who've trained with the current system.
Any recently lvled 30 mages out there?

Any idea on how much game time that'll take you? I've been trying to work things like that out..Get me a 6 stat gnome, and I'll train it as a mage to level 30 within 2 weeks

I trained Mip to level 30...I rolled it and trained it after the elf stats were re-vamped. The alternative now is Silversail (no point trying to keep it a secret anymore).
But you've done all your mages without either Sarka or Jahanna.

Yeah...training on bears wasn't exactly the best thing to do when you're a master mage. ^^;;

Macro-based hit and running. ALWAYS leave one stam left for invis, should you get mortally wounded. Sand spiders are the way to do it. Ideally, train with a coverted thief (level 25+) to hand you pots when you most definately will need them. Macro invis for your thief as well, just incase he gets spotted. This way you can run to town and re-set up your attack plan. Or just stick it out and kill the spider.

2) how much does a mage (21int 20wis) hit sand vipers/spiders for with blast @ lvl 21ish? if its like 35s, then wouldnt trolls be better exp seeing as they are 70* xp(same as MAS), but have next to no wis?(hit them for 50s) *works it out*
35pod*90xp_pod-¹=3150xp_hit-¹
50pod*70xp_pod-¹=3500xp_hit-¹
hmm come to think of it, you would only need to hit 40s on a spider to get more

40pod*90xp_pod-¹=3600xp_hit-¹
anyway just wanting to know i guess how much it would hit for
thanks,

Orgasmo and Satanic, I bought them both. I bought orgasmo at lvl 15 and got him to lvl 19 in about 6 hours. In about a day I got him to lvl 21, with a lil help from a friend.
If everything works out as I plain, I'll get satanic arch in one week and Orgasmo arch in a week an a half.
Maybe less depending on how offten darla is on to help.
She as a lvl 22 mage that both of us are working on, so with total of 3 mages to train to arch that is going to be alot of work. Together we could do it.

You make me laugh with your training times Howie. Like Wisdom was master for like 3 mths, yet it was only going to take 2 days.If everything works out as I plain, I'll get satanic arch in one week and Orgasmo arch in a week an a half.
p.s. Nothing ever goes according to plan. Good luck though
