Hi, Im fairly new to NM. I was banned immediately for using a curse word in quote form. I was shocked and a little upset that I got no warning, and was immediatly banned for 24hrs on the spot. Id like to know specificly what words are considered "bad words" that are not allowed to be used in NM. If you have to, please PM me all words that arent allowed. I dont want to slip up and make the same mistake again. Youd have to agree that some words are borderline.

Also, I logged back in after being banned to get an explanation and ask questions such as these, but I couldnt page them, and I was told by the game master that my account could be deleted because I logged back in on another machine..? Im sorry, but Ive read TOS and Rules section, and I dont see how my entire account could be deleted simply because I logged onto another machine. Just seems unfair that Ive read all rules and I still got punished immediatly, and still lack alot of understanding about specific details of the rules.

I would have emailed JLH, but for right now I have no access to my email. I have my password list boxed up somewhere because Im still in the moving process. Nothing else to do (cant play NM) so I thought now is a good time to register on forums.

Any cuss words are bannable, but there is no set list of "bad words" that staff goes by, or it would have to be added to daily. Simply avoid anything that you wouldn't want your children to hear or use, and if you aren't sure about a "borderline" word, just don't use it.

As for account deletion... being banned is being banned. Bypassing a ban by using a different comp is equal to breaking out of jail, simple as that, although I do understand that you just tried to find answers.

e-mail... you could create a new account for the specific purpose of mailing to JLH. Even if you use sucky hotmail or yahoo, there is always a way to write mail and check for replies.

Yeah but I wouldn't suggest starting a topic saying as many cuss words as you can just to figure out which ones were filtered out.

It's best if you just use best judgement.

Clan Chat, Friend Chat and Enemy Chat aren't bannable if you swear. You will get warned about swearing in a page (if the other person dislikes it, and said something to that effect).
Anything out of line in open chat is bannable.

Obviously there are rare situations where extreme measures must be taken.. Don't ever threaten someone seriously...

I saw someone saying bannable words right in from of a staff, and they didn't seem to care much, maybe the staff person was feeling bad for them...or something.

it depends on the staffer. some will ban you for say'n something others will not. i dont think staff has clear rules on it.

I always thought that as friend/enemy/clan could all be turned off and/or you could remove the person, it wouldn't matter - Obviously, in a situation of someone using various alts to insult,,

Just didnt seem right imo. What I did was wrong, and it was in a public area (arena). On the other hand I was not attacking anyone with my words and, the admin was hiding as I was explaining to a clan member how I had said "F***ing" (exactly as you see, in quotes except for the *'s) in the past, and hoped not to get in any trouble over that. Within 3 seconds I was banned for a day with no warning. Im not a foul mouth, but I do use these words more so in a particular mmorpg. Just a bad habbit to say the least, but for such a small community I expected some slack from the admin. He did seem really angry at the time also and took my phrase very personal it seemed. I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Just seems like it was a bit overboard, especially involving only a few guild members in the area.

Its funny, because I am one who takes rules seriously, and I was not intending on breaking them on purpose, but there is a right and wrong way to go about enforcing them to first time players/offenders in particular.

hmmm... okk... i have a trivia for thunderja... sing or write the lyrics to the intro of Jay and Silent Bob: Strikes Back. You know they were out in front of the store singing to some kids who asked them for a nickel bag which was $15...

Ok so no cussing/swearing is allowed
BUT
have you ever read some of the Crit profiles on here? Some are downright disgusting but somehow allowed.........go figure......
(obviously staff doesnt take the time to read them)
and some AFK messages I have seen also are just as bad if not worse as swearing
