I go afk on my crits right, to like go do something for a minute.

When i get back, I find theyve died of hunger and gone back to their local.

What about an alarm, maybe just a beep (as you get when receiving a page) just to tell you its feeding time?

Well OK, maybe more than a minute, say i need to do something in the background, like im reading the forum for 10 mins, when i get back to them, theyve died and resurrected

Then either check on your crits or i dunno log em off?

The whole idea is that when im waiting for pages I dont check my crits, i hear em come in, so why should I with hunger and thirst?

What about having the server (optionally) page you when your critys are hungry?

that would require no changes to the client

I'm usually logged on 8 crits, and afk a lot. I just don't think options should be added with a ridiculous reason. It doesn't do anything but clutter up, if you can't even feed one crit every 30 min then you shouldn't log on in the first place.

thats all fine when your afking in favour of another crit, but when your not NMing, you tend to forget.

No, i mean gone from the computer, how can you go afk on one crit. NM isn't a way of life, if you don't play, log off.

Anyways that's my point, but then again, as long as it doesn't bother me. I just seriously doubt JLH will add it...

i kinda agree with angelus, if your gonna be gone for more then 5 mins jsut log off or just check your crits once in a while. you are giving jlh more work cuz you are too lazy to check your crits or log them

Actually I do like that option, if it is kept optional. There's plenty of times I am in the middle of playing and one of my kids will call me for something. I won't log off thinking I will be back shortly and then it takes longer than planned and I find my crits starved to death when I get back to the comp. A little beep would alert me enough to come back, feed real quick and go back to the kids business.

i leave it logged on so i still receive things like friend chat and pages. if i receive a page it will still beep, when i come back , i check friend chat, by then my crit has probably died of malnutrition.

besides, its not exactly a lot of work, the code is minimal, he just adds it to the sub that ntifies you your crit is hungry to page you.

when i first looked that over i thought it said kids starved to death instead of crits lol.

if your having problems checking back every so often, turn the paging sounds off, then out of chat concerns you'll check every few moments
