Ok i know the story of aethol , he was once a great mage and whatnot but....
The other day i just found out that ganymede(spel?) tried to cleanse the land of undead or something and was turned foul by aethol. Crane was the one who told me this story and i wonder HOW THE HELL does he know these things(Crane if youre out there plz reply) but im sure there are many more stories like this that can be used for development of new areas etc but......HOW DO YOU FIND OUT THESE THINGS is there an Nightmist book or something (yes i do know there isnt....) but anyway i would like it if people would reply and tell me how do you find these things out
Thank You.

Reading descriptions, both basic (when you enter square) and advanced (when you press enter) are the best ways to get a grasp of the story.
Other useful commands such as /read /examine can be used on some squares to reveal more information.
As an example - in windia, if you look for the library south of the tavern, you can /examine or /read to reveal an extra piece of information regarding the story.

Crane knew the story of Ganymede due to him being the designer of the area it is based in

I created the storyline for Ganymede first, then made the area. If you manage to look over Ganymede, it tells you a shortened version of how he came to be.

If you look around a bit, you will find a lot of little storylines. If you look at the description on the Tattered Journal, it tells you the story of how Aet'Thol came to be.
