Alright.. I need some help. I am 16 years old and live in Michigan, USA. I want to get my own apartmnt. But I've been told you have to wait until you are 8 to get an apartment. What I want to know is, is that if there is anyway I can get an apartment at the age of 16. Maybe if my dad signs the paper, and the checks but I pay him the money and I live there? Or dad signs a sheet of paper saying whatever.. I don't know. I need to get an apartment. I just need to know how. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

you're a minor, and you need a legal guardian. why don't you ask the housing companies?

you could get emancipated, i live in california, but im assuming its the same thing there.
I believe in the Triune God;God the Father, the Son , and the Holy Spirit.I believe that while I was helpless and sinful, Christ died for me. Therefore, I now have the righteousness of God, old things have passed away and I am a child of God. I cannot be separated from the love of God, Christ lives in my heart by faith and therefore, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I have been chosen by God and appointed to bear fruit for God. I resist the devil and he flees from me.

It's being released from parental care, meaning you are no longer their responsibility and are responsible for your bills, shelter, food and so on.

You have to proove to the court you are able to take care of yourself.

From what I've heard it's not easy to get emancipated, you need to have been holding a job for like 6 months I believe? Anyway..that's how it is here in the state of Florida.

Its hard to keep a job for 6 months?

I just recently turned 16, and I've had a job for about a year and some now... yeah thats right. I had a job before it was technically legal... heh....

Anywho, I cant remember needing to be 18 to get an apartment, or even a house here in alberta. I checked that out awhile ago... heh...

anywho, I'm kinda just acting like I know what im talking about sooooo

Im outta here.
