[Shapeshifter]

I will edit and re-post here as I continue developing the idea. Currently I'm just trying to get a general feel for how people react to the idea before I go putting too much effort into these musings.

Here is what I have so far:


HALLOWEEN AND CHRISTMIST 2013

OVERALL STORY: There are two extremely powerfully magical days in a calendar year. Halloween, and Christmist. The Halloween story will further tie into the Xmas quest by being a return of the same villain. Because of his defeat on his own holiday, he is hell-bent to steal Santa's magic and take over Christmas, and thus, get revenge on the realm of Nightmist, and the Nightmistians that tried to banish him.

Halloween: 10/31/2013

STORY: A rogue mage, hidden away from the world for years, finally comes to the surface with a plan to conquer the realm by harnessing the magical power of Halloween. He spends his time buried in tomes and scrolls doing research and trying to come up with an ultimate magic, capable of annihilating an entire city, or the entire realm. The mage eventually comes upon tomes and scrolls that explain how to harness the magical power of Halloween, and so he waits, plans, and is finally ready to unleash his newly aquired powers upon the realm. Ghosts of his victims start swarming Nightmist and surrounding cities, pleading with adventurers to help find Jack and end his evil plot!

BOSS: Jack the Hallo-mancer. - A rogue mage that has aquired the ability to harness the magic of Halloween, granting him unbelievable magical power, that he intends to use to conquer the realm.

Christmist: 12/25/2013

STORY: After being defeated on Halloween, Jack escaped imprisonment and went back into hiding to bury himself further in his research, believing that he was only beaten by his own lack of power. He plans to use the same strategy to harness the magic of Christmas and once again take the realm by storm. He manages to get into the North Pole and defeats Santa with his stolen Halloween magic, then starts to syphon the magical energy away from the North Pole and its inhabitants to further bolster his powers. A small group of severely weakened Elves escape the North Pole and its calamity to warn the inhabitants of Nightmist and beg for their assistance! Will the adventurers of Nightmist once again rise up to face this maniacal wizard and his evil intentions?

BOSS: Jack Kringle - The infamous Jack the Hallo-mancer returns, with his newly harvested power of the Christmas spirit. He's back to seek his revenge upon the all those that stand before him and conquer the realm!

Again, its a little light on information, other than some basic story plot. Hopefully people will go light on flaming me, and offer only constructive comments aimed at the topic of the post. If you have nothing to say to help develop this idea, please refrain from posting. (I.E. - Post about the effort being wasted or starting slander against players. Im just inspired, and figured I would show what Ive got so far.)

People tend to like my thoughts, even if some of my ideas leave a little to be desired. Inspiration has struck, lets see what happens?

Halloween

Most of Jack's facial features are obscured by the shadow cast upon his face from the hood of his cloak, all save for the menacing glow of his eyes' that glow like flames in the blackness of his shadowed features. His body is mostly hidden from view by his heavy black cloak, edged with a charcoal grey, and held together at the collar with a simple strap. The rest of his body is covered in equally dark and shadowing clothing, belaying very little about the sorcerer beneath them. His formidable power seems to stem from the jack-o-lantern held tightly in his hand, where he's collected the magic of halloween. The fire that burns within the carved pumpkin flares and flickers as he swings it about, but never extinguishes, no mater the movement. The face cut into the pumpkin is frightening and menacing on its own. He turns quickly and brandishes the lantern readying a spell to attack you with!

Jack the Hallo-mancer burns you with his Spewing Lantern Flame for XXX damage.

Jack the Hallo-mancer unleashes the lantern's Cackling Wail at you for XXX damage.

Jack the Hallo-mancer hits you with the lantern's Petrifying Gaze! (Possible Hypno skill for boss to use)



Christmas

Jack has returned, this time with the stolen magic of Christmist. He wears a large fur cloak, the hood obscuring his features once again, as his eyes glow like flames beneath it. Unlike his mind, his outfit seems to have been altered by the over-abundance of Christmas magic he harnesses in that lantern. The fur cloak is colored a deep rich burgandy with a black leather strap fastening it at his collar. The cloak is lined with a cuff and edging made of snow white fur, further adding to the festive theme. He clutches the same jack-o-lantern as before, though this once burns at the center with a chilling ice blue flame, and the lantern seems to drain the heat out of everything, even the room itself. Jack seems unaffected. He turns and brandishes the lantern at you, readying a spell to attack you with!

Jack Kringle freezes you with his Frozen Lantern Flame for XXX damage.

Jack Kringle unleashes the lantern's Chilling Cackle for XXX damage.

Jack Kringle hits you with the lantern's Frozen Stare! (Another possible Hypno skill for boss.)

I like the idea of new quests, and that the quests are tied together. Also, I think it would be nice to plan them so that they can be ran longer than just right around the holiday that they represent. Because its a hindering having to get on during the holidays.

Anyways, i think you could write up some pretty good stuff, so hopefully you can get some staff support on this.

I'll certainly see what I can work with when the time comes. We have two Christmas drops that did not appear so we shall see what can be put together.

Sounds good. Makes the game a little more enjoyable when you arent just doing the same thing over and over.
