I was typing this up in response to Piddy in the topic Equipment Exchange. It became enough to give me the okay in my mind to just post it as a new topic. Wasn't sure which of the 3 I should've posted it, oh well, here works.

These are mostly some random suggestions to make bossing on 1a a more pleasant experience. By either breathing new life into old bosses, or making desirable ones more feasible.

"Making items worthwhile again is easy, just make a new craft for them that's time consuming as hell, yet worth it.

If that 4ac ring made from cr's was added, I'm sure those cr's of yours would sell like hot cakes :lol: Could already be in the coven, some stuff got added in!

Halberds sell for 7.5k, those 22 hallies are worth a small penny! I still say my Crossbow of Atrophy design would be a sexy addition to his drops though (he could be given a useless drop to start the crafting of it as well), or maybe his new fighter armor could be sold for a decent price.

Sgs..sadly with all the double stat gloves, bewitched sgs aren't worth it too much, and imo all that work for 1 armor was worth it on main, not so much for 1a. Bewitched sgs being downed to 6 armor and +1 wis on 1a would be sexy, and make all those items worthwhile. All the clerics would want one! And if druids/pallies would rather go dex than str, they would as well (over gov). Either that, or some of the drops in bewitched sgs need their drop rate up'd hardcore, they're super low for 1a.

Speaking of drop rates, drop rates of certain bosses should be up'd. They're not meant for a 1a scenario. Immediate thoughts are Imhotep, Drow Archmage's Seal of Absense, Credenza/Kunal (their "null" drops could just be reduced and proportionally replaced in other drops), Old Hermit.

GSW just plain needs a new drop, a new thief helmet that doesn't make feathered helm the norm would be awesome, with a drop rate between dos and swh, or maybe a little less than eithers. I already have something written up in Boss Drops, but eh, not too good. Name was Skull Cap I believe.

I'm not sure how tirantek is doing nowdays on 1a, has kunal started dying atleast weekly?

If not, I still support a reduction in her ability to heal, and though superior mana is probably good enough for a small party, maybe up the drop rate of mana from the drow mobs on the way to her till the area is more active."

Any comments or suggestions you have for any kind of boss statistics can go here, and maybe Stig would be willing to alter them for us really quick if we can all agree on something very reasonable!

With levels getting higher, pretty much can do any boss. Also think kunal was already nerfed... As for crafting items, i agree. Would be nice. And bewitched sgs wouldnt be bad if druids and mages could use em. Should change that and have a charisma modifier in my opinion.

You can return the Dagger of Spirits to the Scarlet Daggers Guild... try selling it in their shop. I know multi-alt is starting to see some new high-end bosses that one player generally cannot fight alone no matter how tough their crits are. What's the hardest on 1-alt at the moment?

The hardest on 1alt is demi and gristle. Because they heal and are only beneficial to one person.

a decent alternative on the boss thing is to just have a "rich lovable companion" pawn shop that takes things like emerald dagger , blade of time, earthward, snakewillow brace for 150k and things like demon plate spider gauntlets boots of time for 50k. then bossing could actually help pay for your lvl instead of giving you alot of exp and no gold. just a thought

Metal Scrap Dealer accepting more items would be the tits, especially for a low gold amount, 100k-150k for harder to get items is indeed fair, and anything from 5-30k for any of the noober bosses. Perhaps we also need a cloth dealer? :lol:
