K, today I took all of the keys off of my keyboard, there were little bits of like...dirty stuff on top of them, but under them was a cesspool. Under was covered in stuff like...dog hair or something, flakes of dirt, a sea turtle, flakes of bread like stuff, little black bits, all sorts of stuff...

When was the last time you did that? Have you ever?...are you going to look and see now that I've said how messed up it is under the keyboard's keys?

I was originally just turning my keyboard over and shaking it, and stuff fell out. Then my M key wasn't working, I figured something got stuck under it while I turned it upside down, so I levered the M key off and saw stuff under it...just ended up pulling them all off and cleaning out under there....

I shook mine, and all that I could recognize was tobacco and cigarette ashes. Weird thing is - I don't smoke.

I somewhat did it with my old keyboard. I shook it to see what goodies would end up falling out of it... and boy I don't think there isn't a thing that didn't fall out. Mainly just ashes though. I could never manage to pop the keys off to see how good it really did look.

Heh, I made a thread like this on old forums too, tried to find it but it must have been deleted in a forum cleanup by JLH. It was amazing how many people had pubic hair in their keyboards. ^^;;

At work, there was a girl who dumped coffee all over her keyboard, so i said, after harping at her, that i'll tear it apart and dry it out. When i tore it out, i found, what looked like, pieces of ham, a cigarette butt, a couple loogies, and this weird white fuzzy thing i wasn't even going to attempt to identify.

It was like, the path to hell tearing apart that keyboard.

Ive gone through like 3 keyboards in a year. About 2 weeks ago i saw ants coming out from around the caps lock key and i poured water over it to disolve the sugar (think twas syrup), before when i pryed off the keys it was like... gooey with bits of tabacco and ashes, and last weekend i threw up on it so im sorta kinda afwaid to look now :) Oh and i painted around the edges of my keyboard with dark maroon nail polish a couple months ago so im sure bits of that is in there too :)

I remember Deval's thread and also taking my keyboard apart then to clean it. I found cigarette ashes from hell, bread crumbs and a lot of dried up KoolAid, which was the reason for the sticking keys.

Sadly the keyboard didn't survive the clean up. After I was done, the space key would either jam up or fall out. I am sure some of my NM friends will remember my periods of weird typing (heyfolksmyspacekeyfelloutagain).

I now have a really nice wireless that every now and then gets turned over and spanked, resulting in mostly ashes falling out, and on good days I even vacuum it with a special attachment for my vacuum cleaner.

Not so long ago, maybe a few weeks ago I cleaned the surface of my keyboard but didn't really bother going inside to clean that out. I know there probally is a few pubic hairs and probally a bit of facial hair as well, however I stopped eating while using my computer so there shouldn't be any food particles in there..

I'd hate to replace my logitech keyboard, it was the most expensive one I could find to buy...

Mmmm yes, that is a pre-requisite for all keyboards I buy as well.

Also none of that split key-board junk. you know, the ones with the empty spaces right in the dang middle. Thats done just so you have to pay more :)

slanty keys on the keyboard are swell. they make my carpal tunnelz thingy hurt not so much, and help me spell with greter ease. if only i could get something to help me with my grammer, now.

my buddy spilled beer on one of my boards (i go through them pretty quickly), and he managed to strain out the spilt beer for a nice, "nuttier" flavour of Natural Ice Light. blundering act of bafoonery, or possible new pilsner endevour? time will tell.

As Two said, the A shaped layout helps when you have trouble with carpal tunnel syndrome. On a regular keyboard you hold your wrists at a not so natural angle, while the A shape allows you to hold them in a more natural position.
