yeah a mobile version of the roller would be great, but couldn't you use your mobile as a modem to play or roll through your work computer? unless you cant actually install nm of course.

Kinda OT but id like a screen remote for a WM2003 Pocket PC which would work over bluetooth to enable me to roll from my computer, from outside  any suggestions?

i have seen other MMORPG mobile games that can be played both pc and mobile and in comparison with Nightmist they all sux
there is a mobile mmorpg industry going on and i think nightmist with a little publicity can work
my opinion
mobile symbian maby , i have an n73 and i can picture nightmist on it very well
it wont be as good as pc but u could still play, harder but effective when ur not near pc or laptop (or u cant afford one)
what does JLH think?

I think it would be kind of nifty if you could...
Especially when I buy my iPaq I want.. That is, if it already can't load Nightmist...
Not sure on that.. It can run other windows programs.. I guess I'd find out, but if I couldn't, then this would be benificial.
Even if it was just the roller, and like the ability to use your friend//clan//enemy chat//pages...
Because if you are away, and making a trade with someone, you could communicate with them o_O
I dunno, I'm trying to find more reasons it would be useful for JLH to code//try out ^^;

The problem is that you have "JLH" and "code" in the same sentence.

JLH used to code a whole lot of Nightmist, in fact, all of it.

Ha, I've one up'd you now. I used JLH, code, and Nightmist all in one sentence.

I would buy a phone with Windows Mobile 5, just for that reason.

I don't think nightmist can be compiled to run on a mobile device, but a .net framework c# wrapper and client could be written to let you log in and chat. In fact, I wrote a telnet wrapper for nightmist once (before encryption).
If you build it, they will come.

Considering you use your mouse to do most of the work on the game (Attacking, spells, inventory control, equipping items), how would you gain this on a standard mobile phone device?

There are many things to consider.

Not all mobile phones do though... You could use the navigation buttons to select different things to click, but some mobile phones only have up and down, not left and right.

Then there's things like macros, typing '/' commands will take forever, and actually fitting the entire interface into a tiny mobile phone screen.

Its easy, only for a few mobiles that can work and have up down left right, how is that.As i said harder but effective and 1alt only.at least u can train, talk, trade etc.make a few versions for a few mobiles, try it at least.I played an online mmorpg with character and a big map, varius q and mobs etc, alot more complex then nightmist..as graphics and stuf,i imagine nightmist very well on my screen dont see any problem. And u can try to find a company to work with u,like a membership or something.Revive nightmist on mobile? At least i tried.Today mobiles are closer to a computer,i am on my mobile right now,i have unlimited internet for 4euros per month,i can watch movies, open pdf files play 3d games and stuf...and u cant make a text based game on it?
Competition is to high on pc,very low on mobile.
When i played nm i had 1 gigabyte hard drive and pentium 1 at 133 speed, procesor,my mobile has 2gb hard drive, and others have 8

well it would be easy enough to do just run it in a virtual machine but realy there isnt anyone interested enough to devote the time to building a mobile version

I don't own an iPhone, but I highly doubt it runs Windows Mobile, unless you hack it.

Anyone tested this on a new smartphone yet?

Get a netbook and mobile broadband (Come to my work and I'll sell you both )

Netbook is the cheapest and smallest one, fine to run nightmist.

Mobile Broadband is just a usb stick and works where you can get a mobile phone signal. (can get offers on laptop with this)

Easy

Could we please let this topic drop?
For some reason, it was pushed up after being nearly a year old.

As said previously- There are these little computers called laptops. Nightmist is not going to be made into a console game that you can carry around like a Gameboy.

the fact that it was an echo of your post that you could use a regular laptop is irrelevant aswell ...
