My kid picked up a game at the store today. A Phonics and a math game. When I try to install the disk I get the following error.

D:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose Close to terminate the application.

This isn't the first time I have ran into this problem when trying to install a disk. Just the other times I wasn't to interested in the disk to begin with. Any help is welcomed. Thanks in advance.
My inner child is a mean little f*ucker

1. Browse to D:\WINDOWS\repair
Right-Click and Copy the file named: autoexec.nt *

2. Browse to D:\WINDOWS\System32
Right-Click in that window to Paste the file
(Answer yes if prompted to replace existing file)

* Note: If the file autoexec.nt doesn't exist on your system
right click the link below and select the "Save Target As.."
option to save the file in D:\WINDOWS\System32
http://mvps.org/nibb...its/AUTOEXEC.NT

Edit: You may have to fix Config.nt and Command.com too, but just check if the above thing works first.

very normal for old 16 bit programs
you may have to download an autoexec and config from google with msdos settings in it

Had this problem at pro byte.

Machine has spyware on it.

Despyware it, then delete the file, and windows will remake it itself if it needs it.
If you build it, they will come.

I don't believe the problem is spyware related, Pandilex. I think JLH has pretty much covered it.
