Oh, great. My sister and her family just moved to North Carolina this weekend and they're not too far from the coast. Hopefully, it doesn't hit. It better not. :|

It was downgraded to a tropical storm. What? The Carolina's experience hurricanes every year. This one barely touches the severity of others in the past.
We'll douse ourselves in gasoline and hang our bodies from the lampposts.

There have been worse hurricanes in the Carolinas in the past, and, unlike the geniuses that developed New Orleans, the ppl in Charleston at least created the city ABOVE sea level.

But after Katrina, you say the word hurricane, and everyone runs in fear.
Carolina will be empty.

The problem with storms like this is mainly that its been sitting offshore dumping rain and saturating the ground for a few days. So now that the ground is saturated even with tropical storm force winds your talking about massive amounts of trees knocked down so lots of damage and lots of power outages . But it shouldne be to bad. Hurricane Katrina passed by florida and sent my shores 20 foot waves, needless to say I was thrilled, but then when I saw all the devestation it caused I felt guilty for enjoying them so much.

How do you create a city above sea level, is there a lot of concrete involved?
If you build it, they will come.

Or on land that isn't near a valley.
