There are rumors of a nightmist 2 going around and you will have to pay to play it... I would never pay to play a game that didnt come in a pack or box.... maybe JLH should make a helper and sell it for 5$??? that would be something I could spend some money on....he could update it monthly or something.... or sell custom avatars instead.... I really would hate to have him put a pricetag on a fun game....

Many good things in life have to be paid for, and people can easily make third-party Nightmist II helpers for free. As for custom avatars, many people already get them on the original Nightmist for donating.

JLH has to pay quite a bit for Nightmist's operation... hardware, electricity, line rentals etc. that comes to just over £1,000 per annum. If a hundred players paid £1 every month, which is hardly a loss of cash to most, that comes to £1,200 a year, which should easily cover the costs of running the game.

If Nightmist II proves itself to be exponentially superior to Nightmist, which I am sure it will, seeing as it is a joint effort by JLH and Pandilex with people forwarding ideas and advice, and having the original Nightmist to compare with, then it is definitely worth paying for; also, a fee would discourage people who only want to play to cause grief and hassle... and the number of people like that are becoming all too many at the moment.

Monthly fees are a pain.... If nightmist 2 had a 30day free trial then yea it would rock... but I normally don't buy games without trying them first and it would have to GREATLY surpass the original... More classes races ect type stuff.

More races/classes are not the only way to make Nightmist II better than Nightmist. I imagine most pay-2-play have a trial period to see if you like the game or not, and I am guessing Nightmist II will not be an exception.

A NM2 crit works free for 1 month i believe. Then you need to start paying <credits> which will probably be worth another month. They wont be really expensive.

Well I wouldnt pay to play nightmist.... so there better be some good changes... I agree with transgression and i think there should be more character choices and area's and quests and stuff.

JLH has said it'll be like 50 American cents to play a character for a month. Which means it's 6 bucks for a year for a character (pending on exchange rates).

Not many people have 150 alts... and anyone who uses that many crits deserves to pay that much if you ask me!

If Nightmist II's areas are designed for single alts, I myself might only own 2 or 3 crits in total.

P.S. Do you take Maestro cards? Because they do not seem to be widely supported on the Internet!

If NM2 is p2p we would basically be customers. I put my money where I feel appreciated as a customer. On NM I don't feel appreciated, and I doubt this will change with NM2, so better or not, NM won't get a dime from me. Adios NM.

unsure what I think of the idea.. at least it may weed out some of the bad weeds but p2p could end up being a bad thing what if only like 20 plp are willing to p2p then u wind up with a lame game cause there isnt anyone to quest, pk ect. with...... is the current donation system, not enought to run a NM2 ???....also I think staff should start runnin some more events like quest along the lines of what stotic did with arilin and harabec that was fun and a big change to the same old thing....maybe a few more random mosh's ... if NM2 were to go p2p I belive staff would have to have a much bigger role in the event department and day to day ongoing's

I don't have a credit card---I really don't want to ever use them. I am 17, there is no reason for me to have one yet.
I don't have online banking. I really don't trust a lot of the stuff---and there's not a lot of reason for me to have that type of stuff because, again, I am 17.

Sending cash overseas will probably cost more than the fees for a year on a couple of crits...not that I'd know since I've never mailed anything overseas, but I get the impression that it wouldn't be the simple 35 cent stamps that go around the US.



But then, I am sure JLH would allow someone to send in a lump sum of cash and distribute it how they like, and I think he'd make it possible to move the points around from crits to crits...or I hope.
Then again, I may have heard him say that the points would be attatched to a crit...which sucks pretty badly imo, but I guess it's less of a hassle.


P2P causes some frustration for me. Simply because I'd have to figure out all of this mail stuff, and I don't really know how well the cash would get to JLH, or that he'd allow me to just buy a set ammount of points to apply to crits as I used them and whatnot.





It'd be nice if something were added...like, 5 crits for the extent of Nightmist for $50...or more than that if he wanted. Just something that could be paid and left alone.
But then, I still haven't seen NM2. I don't really expect things on NM to happen until I see them because plenty of stuff has been thought up and then left alone over the years.
With the changes people seem to think would be made, I may not want to play it. A 1 alt system would really bother my ADD...and I don't really see a textbased game of 1-alt sizing up to Diablo 2 or the like...which I have, just prefer NM.
