Fighter is probably the easies to start out on being as they are the most basic class nightmist has, ling for dex/armor, dwarf/half orc for straight dmg, and elf if you feel like you need protection from Mages(which there arent many of)
As far as ease of training id start on a half orc zerk, they miss alot but...Big damage = big fast exp, some levels are tough but zerk training is kinda easy

I'd probably start with a ranger because you can afford almost all their best items as you level up... They are also pretty sufficient solo... But a fighter is what most people start out with because they seem to be a tad easier to train, eventually with a fighter you will want to buy a vamp weapon which will be very expensive.. ling ranger , dwarf fighter or dwarf cleric if u like clerics their pretty legitimately and pretty easy to train... And make bank...

a paladin a warrior with buffs and heals and honestly never needs overpriced vamp weapons.

Id say ling pally or ling druid, pallys can heal themselves, str/dex buffs just slow training. druids you can camoflauge has armor spells, increased dmg/hit rate spells, can use magic or regular attack prob the most funnest out of all the other classes stated above. However when it comes down to vamp weps, there isnt any besides cobalt which is a very high end item and will take quite awhile to get. but druids are still very good starting out and long term

Assuming you don't get PK'd into oblivion, the cleric class would be a good one to start out with. Nice and easy to train while you get the basics of the game's mechanics. They're also pretty decent gold makers again assuming you don't get PK'd left and right. With that gold you can save for some gear for other classes.
All that said, the paladin class would be a good choice as well, as Terron said. You'd then get a taste of both worlds, both melee attacking and healing for experience.

Autek in game.

Fighter would be your best bet.
Nightmist is like Pringles, once you pop you just cant stop.

I would definitely say Human or Halfling Paladin.
