Ability: Defend
Defend allows the fighter to have a better chance of absorbing damage then taking it.
THought it would be overpowered so i thought what when used they lose half of their stam or 3 stam or whatever and stam will only regenerate back to that half stam while defend is being used. Also I think that while defend is enabled the fighter using the ability will not be able to move to flee or run. might need some tweaking but i think it might encourage more people to use fighters.

The fighter will outlast all the other crits.
The problem? Fighters already have more than enough endurance in combat, only a spelled druid can last longer and the druid must be constantly spelling to do that (meaning it cannot morph). Why would anyone use an ability that makes the fighter more durable, when the fighter is the most durable crit in the party anyway? Even if the ability offers near invunerability it isnt gonna help when all the rest of your party is eating sand.
Now if the ability was made so the fighter could defend *other* crits, thats a different matter

I think the ability should raise armor by 10 or 15, and give 1 or 2 dex. Doesn't over-power the fighter because it's still hittable, just a little higher of a chance to dodge/absorb. Doesn't make it invulnerable, nor near it. You could also keep full stam and regen points. Wouldn't over-power it, nor make it un-killable. Would balance it a little and give it something new.

Actually, that would depend which server it's being referred to. On 1a, the thief or mage(if has AoP) will the the one standing, or maybe the druid. But the fighter's over-all isn't good enough seeing as it doesn't have anything but attack. Only chance would be to have a nice damage weapon, like Blade of Time. I know IRL if I was on D, personally, I'd still have my str, cuz i could come in and lean into my attack, giving it the same effect as if I was to swing on offense, and also with the right grip with hands spread apart on my weapon on top and bottom, which is a defensive wield.

1) You saying a 60-90 armour thief with 290-300hp will outlast a 90-105 armor fighter with 350-370hp in a bear endurance test just coz the thief is on 1a? Nope. 370hp is 370hp whatever server you play. In fact thieves are the WEAKEST class endurance wise, so why you said thief i will never know. My 1-stat archpaladin will outlast any l30 thief in game, never mind my fighters.
2) If you kept AoP up on a mage 24/7 you would never reach the boss or your training would be over in no time.
3) Ditto druid armour spells.
4) What the **** does it matter if the fighter had a BoT? If you let a brown bear attack 2 equal fighters, one with a BoT and one punching, both would have an equal chance of dying first.
5) Fighters need an ability to protect OTHER crits, not themselves. Fighters are more than capable of keeping themselves alive longer than any other crit in game.

I'm not exactly saying the fighter would win, but it would have a greater chance. A lv 30 fighter vs a lv 30 thief, if the fighter had that spell, it'd get a little better chance to dodge/absorb. Not enough to over-power, but enough to notice the difference and make it effective.
