We are hiring staff again!

Principal duties include events as much as possible (so that I don't have to run them all the time) and general helping out of players.

We have a few ideas of who we think would make good staff, but we've decided to let you guys nominate and discuss people who you think would be good for staff.

If you have been involved with theft, you've got no chance, so that removes about half the player database to start with
So don't even nominate people who've been involved with theft, and you can't nominate yourself.

Ultimately, we may hire no-one, or we may hire someone who isn't even mentioned, this thread bares no guarantee on what may happen!

Things to consider:
- are they anti-social in game?
- do they help others in game?
- do they brag about how cool they "think" they are?
- reputation?
- use of language - do they have a good command of the english language? (i personally like this a lot) or do they talk in l337 speak or miss out letters half the time (as if you were writing on a mobile phone) - this doesn't include acronyms like lol, afk, atm, afaik etc.
- probably more here, but nothing comes to mind atm.

Don't let this turn into a flame war, since people who do would have a lot less chance of being considered.

edit: think about contributions to the game they have made too

In addition, please post reasons why along with your nominations otherwise they have no value to us.

Why? Cause he's helpful and nice to ppl. He's knowledgable about the game and has been around for awhile.

id say gaddy/mono would be great staff but i dont know if they would want to be, and they sure seem to meet all the qualifications that go along with speaking to people/helping people/not getting caught in the drama and have great reps for knowing the game

well to start things off, CRANE I MISS YOU!, now back to the subject at hand, i nominate Gaddy, Mono, Aeryn, Fearless, Sera all 5 meet the specifications as in they help alot of people play the game, Aeryn is the best forum mod we ever had, nobody knows the game better than Mono, nobody has as good of a reputation than Fearless, Gaddy is an all around good person/player, Sera was at one time next in line for a staff position and i think we need to give her another shot, since the day i met her she's been helpful, considerate, and a great person.

Also, i like that JP kid he's sooo cool and a great player and i hear he's super cute like a sexy fox

they're people i know, and dont know, and like, and dont like, but what i know about them is whats relevant.

they are fair, genuine, and good people.

#1. Alan and Myself (Jared). Easily two of the top players in every aspect. Both intellegent and respected like a fox.

#2. Aeryn, Mono, Lew(Snoopy) and Gaddy for the exact reasons.

My thoughts anyway, admittedly I'm no angel like the lovely Aeryn but everyone gets along with me like a dynamic fox.

Others mentioned are all very nice players, but my nominations are all ACTIVE and not gate sitters. Good luck to everyone who thinks they should have a chance anyway.

I nominate Jared!

Although he may be egotistical, he is very fair and has a good hold on english and australian language. He's never stolen either, I personally think he would make a great staff player. He's organized 1-alt trips and has invited anyone, enemy or not, how can you not love him?

I'd nominate myself, but it seems the fact I r have been teh thief before makes it impossible. I may be mean sometimes, but I'm helpful and nice, just wouldn't advise giving me the power to ban XD

JLH kinda cheated us here didnt he? Opening a post that says "Were looking for staff" without telling what the staff is going to be doing. Wouldnt it be better if we knew what the new staff would be doing?
If the staff would run events and take care of language ect.. then maybe someone who is proactive would work. If its game development Gaddy or Alan/Jared. If its a general staff that does all of the above then maybe we should go with someone with paitence and good morals.

Gaddy is a very good player who plays the game as good or better then any other. However if you know him then sometimes he gets frustrated and doesnt fill the need to play...so he goes on and off with being strongly active to almost not at all. This might hurt the game by adding a unactive staff. Along with he might take too stong of actions without clearing it with other staff members. I could see him seeing somthing wrong ex:too strong a weapon and either removing it or changing it without questioning.

If we are going to select a new staff we almost have to make sure they will be as active as Crane was. The only way less active staff would work is if they have less responsibilities.

Another thing I see wrong with this post is...people think its a contest, like they are trying to win a race. EX:"Good luck to everyone who thinks they should have a chance anyway"

ts not like that, if you think about it theres nothing more then moral satisfaction to gain from this. Maybe some knowledge of game otherwise not known. Along with that your going to be tied down into a commitment.

At the begining JLH claimed that you shuldnt nominate yourself...I count 2-3 who disobeyed this...how can you be expected to follow a code of conduct as staff if you cant follow simple bold instructions?
