Maybe enable it so that fighters are able to sacrifice there shield and equip another weapon, not strong weapons that are 2 handed, but possibly a dagger, or rubber knife

So short swords, knifes, daggers, spear, pike, lance?

Or maybe wepeons that can only be used a number of times then break? then either buy anohter or re-equip ya shield

Or a Katana and its little brother, the Wakizashi (if they ever add it to Nightmist) - common with Samurai. This is an interesting concept, I have to say.

Also been discussed about a million times both on old and new forums. Try searching for the idea to see how people have posted already. It will probably be called Dual Wield, or something along those lines.
