Im sure everyone knows that right now a counterspell is the same thing as a resist basically in mage vs mage fights. I along with others think that a counterspell should do damage to the mage that is being counterspelled, maybe not full damage but like half damage, or some %. Counterspell does seem as if it means the spell has been reversed if im not mistaken, so maybe we can have it do some kind of damage to the mage being countered? opinions please, ty.
i didnt get much or opinions on suggestion page so im posting here hoping for more replies

From my knowlege i believe that when a spell is counter spelled it either fizzles out of bounces off the attackee. With this, could it have a chance of hitting other crits instead of the mage... Like a % on whether or not it hits the mage or another? and then you'd have to take into account with the spell being counterspelled , how strong is it going to be if it were to hit another player...

To counter something means you hit back against it... think counter-attack, counter-barrage, counter-strike, counter-punch...From my knowlege i believe that when a spell is counter spelled it either fizzles out of bounces off the attackee. A 'counterspell' by this should mean an attack on the casting mage

it can do, but it can also mean that the defender has counteracted the efects of the spell rending it useless.

only if the same thing is added for fighters but with a physical attack otherwise no mages are HELLA overpowered

How are they overpowered... they wouldn't be able to 'Counter Spell' a 'Melee' attack.
