i was thinking alot of players are getting bored with all the old classes....i was wondering if maybe we could bring back darkelves and make a new class? just a thought i am not good at making classes but post your ideas on this

Seems like most sets of stats have been used up.

What kind of variation would we add in that would be considered acceptable by players, and don't forget that we've already got two races that are hardly used- Half-Orcs and Half-Elves.

Dark Elves already exist in the game as enemy monsters... Drow.

It was, yes. The other thing is that Lolthian Drow (the most common sort) NEVER mix with the surface races on friendly terms, only if they are after bloodshed or a few slaves, so with the alt-driven world of Nightmist it would be outragous in a role-play sense for them to mingle with Dwarves, Humans and especially Elves (they hate the Elves more than any other species). Drow spend most of their time underground anyway. As for the ones besieging Kantele, the forest conceals them and I presume they are terrorising the Elves.

As Gaddy said, making a new race probably wouldn't cure the problems of boredom; it might cause a lot of people to roll some when they are first released, but the initial excitement will die down. As for a new class... well, there are some suggestions scattered around the forums, but I don't think JLH is going to put anything new into the game engine.
