This is a clarification for people who don't quite know what this position stands for.

Advisors are forum moderators who also have access to the staff-only boards and can contribute suggestions, but don't actually have staff crits in-game. The positions "Advisor" and "Game Staff" are effectively the same on the forums, but make clear to the players which people can actually help with in-game issues. The position was created because some staff members resigned their staff crits but retained their forum status and hence confused some people.

While Advisors can see private information on the staff boards, they abide by strict non-disclosure agreements and are not at liberty to discuss content on there with the players except under exceptional circumstances. Nevertheless, Advisors usually have a deep knowledge of the game from a player's perspective and have helped staff with furthering the game's development (i.e. actually acting as advisors), so their general posts usually hold merit.

If you need to contact someone regarding an in-game problem, especially if you cannot log in for some reason, make sure you contact someone who is listed as "Game Staff" rather than "Advisor". Hopefully this clears everything up.
