I don't know why it never occured to me to do this before...
Nightmist was online and available to play right from when it was a chat room, and thus had constant feedback and the push of people wanting to play it to aid development.
Why on earth didn't I do the same with OS? Anyhow, I realise that it may help if I release OS now and build it up while people are playing and talking about it.
So, with any luck, on the 13th of July I am going to upload the client for people to mess around with.
It's not really a game, it's more of a glorified chat room as most of the cool stuff is implemented but unused. Also, I'll be running it locally so it will probably be very laggy. I imagine it will crash loads too. But if you're interested, log on and take a look. If you can envision it as a future for Nightmist then feel free to post in the development forum, reminding me of all the little (and large) things that need to be added.
All positive support is encouraged. However, don't raise your hopes about anything. There is every chance OS will continue to be a dream. It's never emerged before successfully, so it's unlikely to this time. Spare your criticism, and just see it for what it is, a bit of a laugh.
The (not So) Obvious Thing To Do.

I have seen this go both ways. Sometimes when a game is released too early, people may not realize the duration in which it takes to start going towards the goal of calling your game 'complete' and start dropping out, or get mad if you're busy for even a weekend. I have also seen games work out very well using this strategy.
I wish the best for Opal Spheres and hope this strategy works out well for you. I'm not trying to push you either way, just maybe bring up a side you hadn't thought of.
