This new game was thought up by Trevayne.

03-07-2006 21:29:26, Trevayne: The first annual Snipe Hunt is about to begin. In two minutes, I will take off DND and you can then page me to enter. I will take 20 contestants. Those brave fools will be teleported into the hide and seek arena. They will have 1 minute to run and hide. The rest of the staff will then hunt them down. The last one left standing will win the prize of 15k. (You will be sent to your local when you are killed.)

Actually, I think it's about time that we had an event where exp is lost. Would be more ideal for Mosh and PT, but it makes the events more interesting and seem like a challenge. Right now.. none of the events seem like a real competition except for who can buy the most pots.

and events aren't about exp loss, lol, some people dont want to lose exp on main chars in an event for nothing, i can understand why spectra wouldnt want to die, he has over 1 bil exp lol wouldnt want that to go under on him, and i also got my 100'th death on Halor finally because of that

Perhaps an option for when you do a /mosh start

Charagan was my test crit... we were trying to test out the experience loss in parts of the arena as quickly as we could once people started telling us they had lost experience. Some of the other staff didn't know this though, and kept killing him

I was teleporting around to keep an eye on things, but none of the other staff were.

I notice this was originally stated as being an annual event...could it possibly be made monthly? Only, I missed it, and a year is kind of a long time to wait for the next one

announcement log is clear due to the server restarting, we did run the event again after this first test run, with much better results

This is unlikely to become a weekly event, as it requires 4-5 staff cooperating to make it work.

People did seem to like it though, so I'll try to run it again sometime soon.
