Post where you were, and how you found out about it. I don't mean to be heartless if any of you lost loved ones, I just feel that in order to prevent, we need to remember. It seems like yesturday, not 5 years ago...

I woke up that morning not feeling well, and I told my mom so. She told me to stay home, but I decided to go to school anyway (I was 13). So I went, and Algebra Class (Second period) began. Mid-lesson, someone knocked at the door. A teacher that I had never seen before. She whispered something to my math teacher, who immediately ran to the TV. We asked her what happened, and she said "The World Trade Center has been attacked."

I don't think I even knew what the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were. We watched the news, as horrified 8th graders, for 10 minutes until an announcement came on saying to turn the TV off. The rest of my day I can't remember, until Woodshop. The teachers weren't allowed to have the TV in the room on, so my teacher moved the TV to his office (which had a see-through glass part) and plugged it in there so we could watch it. Watch the horror and chaos. I left school early because I threw up in the bathroom.

My dad got home late because of all of the chaos in Philadelphia, and I just remember watching it on TV for hours at home. And over the next days to come.

I was in school.. my 10th grade year in my American History II class. We were watching it on the news on TV. We suddenly stopped all of our work to watch what was going on. I had no idea what the Pentagon and Twin Towers were.

Students were getting sent home from school left and right that day.. because the parents thought that their children were unsafe and thought we were going to get attacked.. because at the time my state was high up on the alert scale for terrorist attacks.

I was wanting to go home that day.. because I was all paranoid. I ended up staying in school anyways.

I remember hearing about the attacks for the longest time in the media. I can't believe it's been that long . .

Like a lot of other people that were in school at the time, I thought it was a movie or tv show or something until like Di said, it had the new channel on the screen. We turned it on about 2 minutes before the second plane hit, and I didn't know what to think. I was only a freshman in hs at the time, so I figured it didn't effect me in any way, and how wrong I was. Something so long ago, and it still isn't over. The war in Iraq, the rebuilding of New York, even relief efforts for New Orleans. It's all in effect of that one day back in 2001. One day that will never be forgotten by anybody.

I was getting my hair cut before guard duty on base in Charleston, SC. I got to the barber shop, and the barber was telling me about the first plane hitting the first tower. Then, while he was cutting my hair, the radio guy said something about the second plane hitting, and the barber cut into my scalp with scissors.

Whenever I was still going to the Catholic school, I was in the Seventh grade. In 2nd Block, they called all 7th and 8th graders to report to the library. They then told us the news that the first tower had been hit and that we should remain calm and how the earlier grades shouldn't know about it. We then prayed for America, for ourselves, and everyone else that might've been killed in the attack.

Throwing a table across a room, hitting a woman, and being beaten up by my drug dealer - I always enjoy Theatre class...

Our teachers brother was in a building just down the road, and saw the first plane fly over. He called our teacher right away, we spent the rest of the lesson watching TV for news, cus our teacher went home.

I don't remember it much either.. I was in Year 5 at the time, and I heard about it on the car back from school on the radio.. Once we got home we watched it on TV. Day after at school I found out one of my friends father was badly hurt, but he didn't die.

Weird how many of us were sick that day...as I was ill as well. Food poisoning from DiGerno's (or however it's spelled) grilled chicken pizza. (It's amazing how I remember that, and I'm pretty sure I only do because of the events of the following day)

My friend called me and woke me up (I was working nights) and told me about it. I thought she was lying. Went and turned on the TV and just sat there... staring in shock.

I was supposed to go to a meeting for work that evening, but it was cancelled because the supervisor of my department lived on the Air Force Base as her hubby was in the Air Force. No one was allowed out, only people with ID were allowed in.

I remember while all flights in the US were grounded... it was eerily quiet in Midwest City. I was so used to the planes from Tinker AFB flying over. After they started flying again, they just caused nightmares. I'd hear them in my sleep and have nightmares of planes crashing into places where my family were. Sucked >.<

Its just very inconsiderate and rude. If you dont like the thread dont post on it, contiune surfing and post and read a thread that you like instead of being a mooseing moron.

i was in army AIT just gettign ready to make cinimon buns when a marine sargent came in and said something to our instructor. our instructor told us to get our stuff together we were going back to barracks. which sucked cause we wanted the cinnimon buns.. we waited and waited till they finally marched us back to the company and our commander came out and told us what was going on and put us on lockdown. we watched the news for like 48 hours stright and then we stopped and non of us watched news for the rest of AIT. too depressing. i remember a girl in another platoon burst into tears cause her father worked in teh pentagon and he was in the hospital. we didnt know what to say to her. so we hugged her and tried to make her feel better.

.....funny though soon after that we got ALOT of new ppl in "oh i joined after the terrorist attacks" and they say it with such pride whilst the rest of us who had patriotism before this are glaring at them wondering why the hell it took an act of terrorism to get ppl to volenteer to defend our country.
ok imma stop now cause ill go off on a rant.
Perhaps one day maybe I will understand PAIN. Why it is and how it has to be. Until then...

I was at work at a place called Topan IntraAmerica. Within minutes of it being announced that it was a terrorist attack 5 indians were escorted fom the plant. The next day we had a plant meeting basically saying "Hey or engineer Okmed had nothing to do with it. So lets not take it out on him." They allowed them to return to work the following week.

Saddest part of that day aside from all the lives lost was the reaction from the redneck community. These backwoods country frucks were trying to beat anyone up that even looked like they mighta had a red dot on thier forhead. Was only after the 7-11's, Dairy Queens, and gas stations around the country started closing down that they realized how much we depended on em.

taking internet to seriously or not what you said was rude and it did not belong here... how do you know people posting here didn't have family in pentagon or the WTC or friends that did.. they were really down on this day and so were just about everyone.. it is not something to joke about.. this is serious stuff internet or not

if you did not like the post or want to take is seriously that is your business but don't be a moronic mooseer and try to make jokes about it just don't post.

Im sorry.

The reason i pressed the "post" button was because i dont take internet and what i post here too seriously (perhaps i should, but i dont). Allso since it really didnt have the same shock value to me as it mustve have on some people that live there. Its just a thing that i saw on tv.

Again, im sorry it was clearly a mistake to post something like that.

Uhm, there wasn't a terrorist attack on the INTERNET, jackhole. (You act/respond as if it took place there.) It happened IRL. Where many people lost their lives and where people were scared for their lives and loved ones. Yeah, it didn't happen in your country or to you personally .. but, it could've. It could've been your family and friends that lost their lives. I bet if this were to happen to your country you'd think differently, huh? I'll remember that if it ever happens. Mike brought this up for rememberance and discussion of the attacks that happened IN REAL LIFE and were very SERIOUS .. you inconsiderate fool.

Best advice is what the others gave you. Don't post if you're going to be ignorant.
