You attacked a Brown Bear with a Long Bow for 17 points of damage.

This should read

You shot/fired an arrow at a Brown Bear with a Long Bow for 17 points of damage.

Well, it says that for almost all attacks except magical attacks basicly. But in truth, I would rather see that then it just saying attack. Supported.

nice picture, i don't remember seeing that one
all the attack messages use the same structure, however each weapon does have the option to use custom messages, it just hasn't been done

OMG LMAO oh that picture is wonderful i love it i cant stop laughing and can hardly see through the tears of joy to type this...oh i am easily amused but you must admit that is great

(i know not really about the suggestion but i had to....and...um it should be changed? but i kinda like imagining beating a monster to death with my bow now i can laugh and kill things cuz i cant stop thinking about it like that)
