As some might have already heard Ryan (Tanis) had his account jacked by Kazuya. He made the sad mistake of sharing accounts and had the password changed on him leaving him with just a few crits (Tenebrae, Jumper, etc.)
Also I was mixed up in this in that I had Grouchy in an account with Jumper and was training them both. Sadly Ryan felt the need to remove my cobalt and place it on his crit Extacy while he was training.
So in short Ryan lost 95% of his account and I lost a cobalt. The saddest part of this whole affair is that Ryan stated to me he was quiting and that pete would get his account.
When I confronted pete in regards to the matter the following conversation took place.

The is was response to a memo I left him in regards to returning my Cobalt.

A memo from Kazuya on 08-17-2004 06:40:17 saying: Not trying to be nasty but, Dude you dont know, never will know me, never tried to get to know me. So you cant exactly sit there saying "never figured you for a thief". You know what i never even thaught of it EVER till certain nuts happened. Hell i even tried to talk to someone about it that is possibly my best friend on this game that i've known for hella ages. And all i got what "lmao" or "lol".

Shortly after i contacted him ingame and the rest is as follows.

Paged User Kazuya: what I ment by what I said was that in the past we have made several deals for crits and not once used the trade system. I hadn`t until now actualy ever heard anything bad about you at all other then you like to trash talk once in awhile. That is what I ment by I never figured you for a thief

Kazuya Pages You from (Hidden): fair enough

Paged User Kazuya: saddest part about this whole thing is that Ryan annouced to me and I believe Mary that he was quiting and that you would get his whole account minus Jumper which I was training and he said I could keep. he said the time frame was 2 weeks. Something to do with starting another job or something. And even after you did change the password he said he didn`t want to goto Pandi or JLh as to not ruin your reputation

Kazuya Pages You from (Hidden): ryan is one of the best players i've ever known... prolly one of the nicest too.... but the fact cant be changed that imma a selfish lil newb

Paged User Kazuya: I understand. So I will as I always do ask nicely. Can I have my cobalt back that was on Extacy?

Kazuya Pages You from (Hidden): hehe even though you understand i'm still a selfish newb

Paged User Kazuya: KK I just needed some sort of proof that you admit to taking it. Your answer was enough. If you choose not to return it I will as I always do go public as well as turn it over to JLH.

Kazuya Pages You from (Hidden): if thats how you wish to approach the matter...

Paged User Kazuya: I approached it in what I thought was a civil way by asking you nicely to return the item that was taken from me. You choose to play the role of a selfish newb. What is between you and Ryan is between you and Ryan. Sadly you changed the password on an account that in less then 2 weeks would have been yours anyways thus creating drama.

Everything that Ryan and I lost can and will be replaced. Kazuya you have just joined the ranks of the newest breed in NM. Pandilex's Minions. Embrass your newest member Simon.

I left nothing of our conversation out. I edited out all the running around and clan chat. I have 4 files where I was affraid my screen would clear so I kept hitting save text.

I could care less what you explained to Ryan. The fact of the matter is that he has been without his Characters for 4-5 days that I know of as a result of you changing the password. I was gone for a week so it may be longer then that.

What I do know is that I am without my cobalt which you have and refuse to return because your a self professed greedy newb. Hence the reason you are classified as a thief.

My intentions are to only warn other players. Yes I would like the items back. But in the event I don't get it I Will not lose a minute of sleep nor game time. I knew long before coming in contact with you the downfalls of sharing an account or part of an account.

You are a popular and well known player. The warning is here to prevent you from using your status in NM to persuade yet another person to share and possibly resulting in them losing thier stuff as well.

Lol the things you just dont understand,

But anyway Craig offered to share with me yesterday (without him knowing of any such events) if i'm such the badass thief you make me out to be why did i not just rob him and double whatever i have and possibly even triple. Yet i sat there and explained the situation with me and ryan. (craig can and most likely will verify this if you wish).

You keep saying "Me and Ryan" what part of you have my cobalt are you missing?

My last post. I said what I know to be facts. You changed the password. Ryan says you jacked his account. I am without a cobalt, and you admit to it but will not return it.

If you feel you need to explain yourself any further please feel free to tell the people of NM why you aren`t a thief and should be trusted.

The part where "Items and characters in an account are the account owners responsibility" hence ryan was responsible. So me and ryan.

Don't know ya n i already don't like ya. Cheers to Momba for having the cajones to say what needs to be said when no one else will say it. Kazuya, don't know ya, already lost respect for you, ph34r me ill sick the nubs on u. If nothing gets done about this, it will truly disgust me as to what this game is coming to. Like what is usually said on topics like these, we're all equal, only some are more equal than others.

I dont understand what your trying to say... "Everyone should be equal" but also "something has to be done about this" if everyone is equal nothing will be done about this. Or do you just miss the big white writing every single time you log in? If this seems to have happened i'll kindly give ya a lil hint on what it says. "STOP COMPLAINING TO US WHEN YOU GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD AND GET STOLEN FROM!"

Awesome, sarcasm at 3:30 am, and complaining about my post. Something needs to be done about this- Yes, if someone gets robbed, something should be done. Everyone should be equal- the theft should always be resolved. Therefore, imo, if everyone was treated equal, then if this got resolved n everyone got their stuff back, if someone guesses my password tomorrow I'd think that that should be taken care of as well. Makes perfect sense now, doesnt it?

I have messaged you personally of my thoughts on this. Please return it to him. if it is not yours, and you did not get it fairly or with authorization, just do the right thing please.

Yes, since we all know that no one would want to live in a perfect world. The fact remains that you were a trusted and abused the trust for your own personal benefit. I forget the word, i learned it in law or ingrish class, I woulda posted the definition here to make my post look cool. But its quarter of four n i cba do search for the word now. w/e cheers

He knows that obviously and stated as such. Momba merely wants to warn other players of things that he has learned from his own losses.

In an attempt to clear things up on account theft issues. The reason for staff saying not to share is because when people are stolen from its not their job to have to look back and see who stole what and try to solve the whole issue of whats whos. Now i try not to post or get involved in issues very often but Ive known u a while Kazuya and at one point respected you. Your clearly a thief and have admited it. I definately think you JLH should put some thought into this matter. All these posts are proof hes a thief, u need not do no looking.. its all right here in front of you. As ive heard in a recent post from you. I ban because i can? something along those lines.. If u rather not do anything about this matter then ban because why? because you can :P . Theft should not be a part of nm in any such way.

Im sorry you lost what you did Jim, and its a huge dissapointment ryan would think to give anything to such a pathetic person.

Vote Decade Ban! :P

heya, well pete i dun wanna ruin a friendship but i was tryin to get u to share with me so that i could get ryans and jims stuff back and if it meant losing some of mine that wat i was expecting, i wasnt going to take anythin of yours cus im no thief but u dont deserve that stuff pete, everytime weve spoke u moan bout how hard you've worked for your things just to turn back on it and do this, i still trust u but the longer you keep the things u have not worked for the more respect i lose for you, at the end of the day you could keep the stuff but u need to think about the morale of wat ure doing from the other persons point of view, ive had access to ure acct a couple of times and not taken a thing u cant take ppl's trust and respect for granted pete its just not the way i thought u were, if u give the things back ill even give u some of my crits to make sure u still have a profit if thats wat it takes just think about what your doing... as a person not a player

Why would JLH put any more effort into this case than into any other case? It wouldn't matter if it happened to 'some dumb noob' but it matters when it happens to someone who actually has some things that are valuable? What happened to wanting equality in the game?

...Meaning generally, if an issue is quick and easy to solve, it will get solved.

We say we won't help if you give out your passwords, because we mostly don't.

I don't think that means we are saying it is legal to keep someone else's things if they give you the password.

I like that sometimes we solve these issues because it shows every now and then this illegal behaviour will be punished.

It's the risk of every thief.

I'm sorry to hear it Momba, I'll look into it and see if anything is likely to be done. It depends mainly on JLH who will undoubtedly have to check the logs.

ps. I must say that this post is my opinion and by no means the 'rule' staff are to abide by.

i didn't read all replies but i was wondering if you got that cobalt back cuz pretty much that was your own mistake since you gave someone the ability to use it that shared with the thieg, and i would be pissed if you got it back.

nothing personal but recently the rules of nightmist apply to a few and not to everybody which annoys me. if someone else wouldn't get the cobalt back then you shouldn't either. (once again nothing personal but i would just like to c the rules apply to everybody)

The way i see it everyone in NM is a thief untill i see something telling me they're not. And as far as that goes it's one person, and that only tells me he won't steal from me.

I bet 90% of the NM community would've stolen it, 10% wouldn't and not because they're all nice and stuff but simply because they're afraid of the consequences.

So unless you're in my fist range i don't trust you, not saying i won't share, but i already take in account that i might end up with nothing.

i definetly dont fall into the '90% of the nm community' that would have stolen it you say...and i dont fall into the 10% that wouldnt have because you say theyre afraid of the consequences, maybe i just fall into the .9% that wouldnt steal because if i ever felt the urge/did steal on a text game i would probaly think i had reached a new low for myself...this game isnt exactly hard...even if i had the password of the person i found most annoying i wouldnt touch anything...just because if my self esteem was that low id just go shoot myself?
and this is coming from a person who is trusted with many accounts(including jen's...so i could have my fair share of nm gold/wealth if i wanted) so...uh...your grouping of nm players wasnt too valid

So? I have gotten acces to stolen accounts and given them back to the rightfull owners when staff wouldn't do anything. Thing is, everyone has a point on which they would steal, just because it hasn't presented itself yet doesn't mean anything. Under the right conditions so would you, maybe because you're pissed of at someone and it will be your way to get em back. But everyone will, given the right reasons and conditions, allthough you feel you're in your right, everyone will still see you as an ordinary thief.

I think this whole situation is a real shame . . . I've spoken to Peter ingame several times and have always thought him to be a really nice guy, honest and respectful . . . maybe my judgment is really off but thats how I always saw him . . . I don't know if hes going thru a rough time atm or if the whole 'nice guy' thing was just an act . . . but I'd really like to see him do the right thing and give the stolen crits back . . . Simply because Petes always been a decent enough player in my eyes who had a lot of decent stuff . . . this got him respect from me and many other people . . .

So Peter do yourself a favor dude and regain your respect from people in this game because without it your going to get very lonely . . .
