Welcome to Deloria Online
Deloria Online is a fun, hack and slash style online adventure game. The player creates a character and levels their way through the world. Unlike most online RPG games, Deloria doesn't use a class system, and players can define their stats to suit their style of play. Players can choose from a wide range of weapons and skills to fight their way through the world of Deloria.

History
Deloria Online was originally created by Jeffrey "Nexemis" O' Blenis.

The game was originally made with the ORE engine, which was created by Baronsoft founder Aaron. Popular games such as Era Online, created by Erling Ellingsen used this same platform.
After being abandoned by Nexemis after the short release of Phase 3, some old fans re-created the 2.3 "Plains of Darnoth" game using a version of Mirage Source known as Konfuze. It was fairly close to the original but lacked in quality, and the engine was incredibly slow and buggy.
After the source code was released to the public, I took the liberty of fixing all of the bugs, and attempting to stabilise the engine.

In 2005, I had a fairly decent player base, and things were running incredibly well. After some time, the game was later taken down to make way for a huge upgrade, with a new game title "Adventures of Virellia".
Unfortunately due to a hard drive failure, I lost everything I worked hard to achieve, and that was the end of an era.

Some years later, Nexemis reappeared with a new version of Deloria, and everybody was excited to play again. After a few alpha releases, the game and website disappeared and Nexemis was nowhere to be seen.
It was at this point I decided to try and bring back the classic game. After playing around with a few ideas I decided to use a modern version of Eclipse to recreate the game, and set to work.
This version used updated graphics and a sleek, modern GUI. Most of the mapping was complete and a public release was just around the corner.
Nexemis reappeared again with a new "Deloria Legends" game. Once again, everybody was excited, and I decided to drop my game and play this official version.

A few months ago, Nexemis vanished from the face of the earth again, and the website went down soon after.

So here I am, dedicated to keeping the game alive, and the memories fresh in our minds.

Why Keep Deloria Alive?
For me it's personal. Deloria Online was a very basic, but addictive online game. I love the mapping style, and I can sit for hours making maps with those tilesets. While people keeping saying "It's dead, leave it that way", nobody can deny the fun this game brings to people. There's no complicated class system, it's very basic, and very easy to jump in and start playing.
There's already a fan base out there that want this game, and if I can give it to them why not?

This version is based on the 2.3 "Plains of Darnoth" version, which will never be released again. Whatever version "Nexemis" (I don't even believe it's the real Nexemis any more) brings out now, will be very different to this version any way.

Some screenshots from past to present, including the Adventures of Virellia game we never got to play!

I believe this was a very early version of Phase 2, with old mapping and tilsets

It was a game I played around 2002. Was awesome, very addictive. There's still plenty of fans out there so hopefully they will enjoy this recreation.

dx7vb.dll needs to be placed into SysWOW64 if that folder exists. If you're running an older version of windows, place into System32 and register it.

If the one in the dependencies folder isn't working, try downloading it from the internet. You shouldn't have to register the files if you place them in SysWOW64.

The server machine I was running is broken. I thought I fixed it with a different hard drive but it has failed again so I somehow need to extract the server files from it and transfer to another machine before I can get the game back online anyway.

Have you registered it?

open command prompt as admin...

regsvr32 "C:\windows\system32\dx7vb.dll"

If it registers, it should work.

Just wait for Nightmist 2, Deloria Online isn't that big of a deal it was just set up for a bit of nostalgia I'll probably just release the source code soon.

Cancelled

Need the extra time to work on Nightmist 2 and Final Saga. I see no point in developing two 2D games of this style.
