I've thought of making a clan from time to time but I still have questions about it. But what exactly is your definition of a Clan. I'd like to know.

A group of people that enjoy playing the game together, and that are willing to lend a hand if needed.

Most ppl don't understand the part about being in a clan, is to help eachother out. They seem to think a clan is simply for jumping ppl.

Well.. since the game has no rp purpose.. clans are pretty much useless besides either helping other people out (which they can do out of clan), or jumping people (again, can do without being in a clan).

If this game had some role playing to it... definition of a clan is a group people gathered together. They can be either good, evil, or neutral. Yes, there will always have to be the top clan as their was in the midieval times. But often enough no matter the nature of the clan, each clan always helped another in the time of battle. Of couse, the battle would have to be over a really good reason. Not just because someone called someone else's mother a hoe out of character. (keep in mind that not one character has had a kid in this game unless there are some true rp'ers and actually roleplayed it.) Yeah you have clans that go and kill everyone in sight or try to take over as much territory as they possibly can.

As for this game though.. pretty much, it's just a group of people having fun together. I've actually encountered one clan that showed some rp ability which for the life of me I can't remember... for once.. I can't fricken remember.. but then again, I'm on vicadin so I'm a bit groggy as is.. anyways... one clan actually made my clan an enemy because one of my leaders managed to recruit a member from another clan to ours. Of course, talks were done and when talks couldn't come to peace, crits were killed, in the end the person ended up getting kicked out of clan anyways on something else lol. So two clans stopped being enemies, life went on.

Now that's what a clans life is supposed to be. Not just the mindless crap that goes around. Yeah, it's kinda interesting to see who has the biggest clan house or the most members to see who is number 1. But that doesn't make what a clan is or #1 in my opinion.

I'm more of a sitter than a player. I've been in tons of clans throughout the years.

I've been in too many clans where everyone's egos pretty much exploded and the clan ended up falling. I always jumped from clan to clan because I just can't handle that type of stuff.

To me, I find that clans with your closer friends are the best.. even if some of the members don't actually play. It's where we can actually have a good time at.. discussing and doing whatever.. where no drama goes on.

A good clan should be a group of like-minded players willing to band together and help each other out as they play Nightmist: by training together or going after a boss, for example... or go on a player killing spree. It depends on the clan and its members.

The clanhouse, built by the founders, can take on many forms and shapes, but generally follows the rule that it is a place where clan members can gather without risk of eavesdropping, as well as a place to heal themselves and deposit their equipment in specially-built vaults.

Well I cannot speak for other MUD's or many other clans, I have actually only ever truly been a member of 2 clans Midnight Thorn's and the Crypt. In both cases it was a group of plp willing to lend a hand to one another and that enjoy to play the game with each another. But i guess I have seen cases where other clans had differnet agenda's.
