I switch my cobalts to my thieves when I got to Malok, it helps a lot. But why you don't see more is other classes can make much better use of them and thief weapon BD is not too shabby.
I wouldn't mind stabbing you in the face, if that's cool with you?

Well, training a thief from lvl 26 to arch is easier with a cobalt, seeing as they can equip it at lvl 25.

Thieves are hidden most of the time, so will not be open to constant attack, hence will not make maximum use of the Cobalt Staff of the Winds's vamparic properties. In my opinion the staff is best for front-line warriors who will receive a lot of punishment from opponents. Thieves tend to sneak up, strike hard and fast, and then get out undetected (of course, that's how we like it, but the party leader gets them out if they fail to take down their target).

I have never used a CSotW on my thieves, but i do use DotW's on them when training. The vampiric ability of the daggers give you the advantage of not having to have a cleric nearby when training, no waste of pots, and they are much less expensive. Just a personal opinion.

Rappy is a decent soldier, but thats not the topic at hand.. Stay on-task guys..

About the topic:

I CSotW is an extremely strong weapon. That's obvious. They also cost 10 million gold. Also obvious. Now, if you have 10million gold to spend, chances are you have the oppurtunity to have an archmaster thief with half-decent stats. Now, If you do happen to have a very nicely equipped arch thief, with the cobalt, you will covert that thief in your party 80% of the time.. So, in essence, when you assassinate somebody, or attempt to assassinate somebody, you don't just wait around to let the dude look you over. You attack quick and hard as Crane put it, and 95% of the time your victim doesn't look you over. Also, if someone did assassinate me with a CSotW equipped, I wouldn't know, for it does not state which weapon the attacker is using. I hope I've clarified things a bit.
