Well I’ve been looking for something to on Nightmist for quite a while now, and finally decided on coming back to 1-Alt. After some thought of what to do I decided to go back to my roots as a paladin.

History: Some of you might remember one of the first clans in Nightmist 1-Alt, the ± Ðivine ßrotherhood ±. I ran this clan, restricted to the ‘divine’ classes, paladins and clerics. It was quite successful in the early days, being made up completely of self sufficient classes. We were the first to take down many bosses with regularity, including the Demonic General, the Spider King, the Giant Sand Wurm, the Hedge Lord, and Lyzanthir the Enchanter. The clan was NOPK, and had alliances with every clan in the game, offering them aid in boss trips, gold making trips, and simply training in general. We played a neutral role in clan conflicts, choosing to stay out of the rivalry and wars, which led to some strain on the alliances at times. Another area of concern was that rival clans would place clerics in the clan for safe training. This was perhaps the most difficult situation the clan faced, but we were ultimately able to dispel the issue when everyone agreed that the safe training of clerics was okay. The clan was as strong as ever when Trevayne decided to remove the healing exp bonus from training, and the majority of the clan was so fed up with the change (among others) that most quit 1-Alt, including myself, or even Nightmist as a whole.

So that ended up being longer than I anticipated. . . Good times.

Anyways, I hope to resurrect the ± Ðivine ßrotherhood ± clan. It will certainly spark my interest in the game, and hopefully others’ as well. I understand that the Paladin class is not nearly as lucrative as it had been in the early days, and many people will certainly pass on joining simply because other classes are more powerful now, but I’d still like to give it a shot.

I plan to bring it back in many ways the same as it was, however some changes will be made to adapt to the times. Below the clan policies and some preliminary rules are listed:

Clan Alliances: This is the foundation for the success of the clan. Alliances are vital in order to provide the members with a safe haven for training, as well as providing a network of potential trips for members with our allies.

Class Restrictions: In the past both paladins and clerics were allowed entry, however I think due to the nature of the rivalries between the clans in the game right now it would be best to allow paladins only. This would prevent enemy clans from training their clerics in a safe haven. I don’t foresee anyone milking our alliances to level a paladin in this day and age.

New Members: Because our alliances are paramount, new members will subject to approval not only by myself and others within the clan, but also by our allies. Due to the limited player base these days some who have been on one side or the other of the rivalry in the past may choose to join. It is vital that these members agree to drop any bias upon entering. In order to aid on trips with allies, spying cannot be tolerated as it violates the trust of allies. Any suspicion of this sort of activity, either by myself or allied clans, will be investigated and if found guilty the person will be dealt with.

Tokens: Since all members will be Paladins, with any luck we will have enough members to obtain tokens for leveling ourselves up. We will also be able to aid allies in obtaining tokens for their Berserkers. This will be one of the major perks for clans choosing to ally with us.

Bosses and Randoms (Internal):
On trips completed solely by our members, item drops will first be randomed amongst those capable of using the item. For example, if we were to take on the Spider King, with paladins of levels 31, 29, 28, 26, and 25, it would be randomed between the level 31, 29, and 28. Once a member has won a random for an item they will be omitted from future randoms for that item until everyone on the trip as gotten one. If everyone who is capable of using the item has obtained a drop, those of too low a level will become eligible. This will encourage leveling by members in an effort to become eligible. If everyone who participated has in the past won a random for the item, it will be fully randomed. The same goes for items which paladins cannot use; full random. It does not matter if a person has an alt of another class outside the clan that can use the item, it is still fully randomed. The winner is in that case encouraged to sell the item to members within the clan.

Bosses and Randoms (External):
On trips completed with members from alliances, the items are expected to be randomed amongst all who attended the trip unless another plan for the drop was established prior to the trip.

Training/Golding: Being the self sufficient classes that Paladins are, our members should be able to train on their own successfully. We will certainly be training in groups when possible in an effort to gain better experience or gold.

Clan House: The clan house will be constructed by myself or through donations by members (completely voluntary). At times it may be suggested that profits from training trips be put towards the clan house, however this too must be agreed upon prior to the trip.

That just about sums it up. I appreciate you taking the time to read it through and considering joining or allying with us. I do believe this will be fun for everyone involved and can perhaps spark some interest in the game once again.

Best regards!

Oh, and if anyone out there was a former member back in the day, or was even in another clan at the time and would care to post what you remember of the clan or it’s trips feel free to share. It’s always fun looking back at the old days!

I came up with this idea, only to find that the old clan name is still being held by someone's lowbie. I just changed the symbols around the name and the clan is back!

Alliances have now been made with the vast majority of the player base. Looking for members who plan to play the paladin class as their main. Potential members will be subject to approval by myself and those in positions of power of allied clans. The purpose is to keep highly abrasive people out of the clan, as well as those who could potentially jeopardize said alliances. It may take a day or two, but bear with me, it will be worth it in the end.

Well I appreciate those who joined and those clans that allied us. Unfortunately there just wasn't enough interest or people who played paladins as their main character to make this thing work.

I've removed everyone aside from a lowbie to hold the clan name, and all of our allies should remove us.
