When I tried to run the game today, it seemed to delete itself.

I tried downloading it from the website, but I get a network error.

I had an external hard drive with my Nightmist stuff on it, but the self-deleting .exe file seems to be a persistent issue.

I don't think I've changed anything on my end. Playing from the same laptop as usual, etc.

It sounds like an anti-virus or firewall issue, deleting it as it thinks it's suspicious.  Try adding an exception for Nightmist to see what happens.

Yep, fighting through my anti-virus and enabling the program was all it took.

No idea why it suddenly caused an issue - was working the night before.

The anti-virus probably auto-updated without your input.  I have problems with my anti-virus as a programmer because it can flag freshly-compiled programs as suspicious or unknown, along with programs from lesser-known developers, which is definitely the case for open-source projects.  Sometimes I have to disable it just so the 'make' script works properly.
