Are you actually serious?

Random new questie:

Armor base: 1, Can be worn by: clerics, druids, fighters, mages, paladins, rangers, thieves, pacifists, Description: They're all so busy at this time of year - it's a wonder that they are able to get all of the presents prepared in time for Christmas Eve, but they do have help in the form of these nimble work boots that allow them to whizz around the workshop at double quick time. They have been a blessing in recent years due to the ongoing increase in demand for bigger and better presents., Level needed to equip it: 31, Strength modifier: -1, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 1, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0.

Feathered boots:

Armor base: -20, Can be worn by: clerics, druids, fighters, mages, paladins, rangers, thieves, pacifists, Description: A special piece of footwear used by the people of Windia for 'Speedy movement' when travelling around their city. The boots feel extremely light and comfortable on your feet and seem to fit perfectly. Made with small feathers these boots don't offer the wearer much protection., Level needed to equip it: 20, Strength modifier: -3, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 1, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0.

So can I ask what has changed so much in terms of balance that being level 31 now means you can gain an extra 2 strength and 21 armor. This isn't a slight improvement on a current item its a massive improvement :P

This is very nearly as stupidly over powered (in respect to feathered boots) as Santa's boots...

In short can something seriously be done about feathered boots, maybe remove the armor loss, or set the strength to -1.

Elven Work Boots are a multi server only item. They have no bearing on the 1-alt server. Therefore, there is no need to compare the two.
I would ask myself why, but even I do not know everything.

Does this mean main will have to compensate all their current items to suite possible old questies that could replace them?

I'm sorry to say, but your last sentence ruins your entire credibility of trying to act like it's a bad thing for the game in general. Instead of nerfing the elven boots, you want to up the feathered boots. So your idea to compensate something that you call overpowered, is by upping other items. Sounds to me more like you were left out of the goodies and aren't all too pleased about it.

Sorry but i don't see where he was comparing 1alt to main seeing as both items are main... He was just saying why add questies that are even more powerful than ones that were already ingame, that were considered unbalanced. I believe.

Sounds to me like I have to use a ranger that has -3 strength and -30 armor because Rappy loves 25 dex lol. Generally it has been agreed by all staff(Advanced search for "Feathered boots") in the past that feathered boots have no real purpose for any class at all, the new boots just reminded me of this fact.

I'm not suggesting bringing them into line with this questie, just perhaps put them in the same ball park.

Edit: Also Walt I'm confused by your post, there probably isn't even a pair of feathered boots in game on 1a so its implied that I was talking about main.

Edit2: Elven work boots aren't overpowered, reread my post and you'll see I haven't called them overpowered. I have said they are overpowered in comparison with feathered boots which has a different meaning to the context you are implying I have used.

Edit3: Anyway all in all it was more meant in a sarcastic way at how pathetic feathered boots are.

I think they pwnd Feathered Boots so hard because the boot slot isn't meant to have a dex mod, especially a shop bought one at that. I'd imagine that's why the elven boots have an ac and str trade off too, but since they are a quest item in very limited numbers it isn't as harsh.

Plus there is a level difference. More importantly, the method of obtaining the items makes the biggest difference.
There is no justification for changing a shop bought item that was never changed after being put into the game.

Feathered Boots really do not make a whole bunch of sense to use, but they can be useful getting a ranger from level 20 to rapid fire. Elven Work Boots are far, far better, but the negative mods still act for the same idea as Feathered Boots mods.

The mods being lower just make the Work Boots reasonable to use, which is still debatable for most classes. I don't think Feathered Boots are statistically justified for high level use, though perhaps for originality.
However, they are exactly what they were planned to be. Nothing was done to nerf the Feathered Boots after people bought them from the shop or from others. So buyers got exactly what they paid for from the shop. The quest item does not change that purchase whatsoever.
Wisdom is the principle thing. Therefore, get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding.
