He's also going to hell as it seems o.o...

a better expression would be "the players have gone to hell"
don't blame the system, blame the people who use it badly

true that.

Lets not forget that NM has saw the likes of the players we speak of come and go since the creation of this game. But back then we actually had active staff who dealt with issues of thieves and abusive players.

back then, players didn't give out their passwords all over the place
the players back then were also a lot nicer to each other (and yes, i do have backups and logs of everything since nightmist started, so i'm not making it up)

It is a shame that the community is the way it is now. Even from the 12 months I have played I have seen the community change from fairly nice to fairly bad (in my opinion). I long for the days of even just a year ago.

Nightmist is no longer a game, simply an alternative outlet for these 'players' to attempt to prove their 'superiority' via means they see in the media, whether it be stealing for a living, harassing others or killing one another with mass gangs.

Pking someone used to be a rewarding experience, due to the fact that you could test your own character against others, instead of simply fighting computer generated monsters - Nowadays however its just another way for someone to get one over on someone else. (which usually involves some superior application window changing skills!!!!!)

This is what happens when the staff presence in the game faids, it makes it seem like the game is no longer cared for and it generally makes the players seem like they are in control - Take away a government in any country and you've got chaos - welcome to the capital of Nightmist.

Oh and so people don't think I agree. I do not think the game has went to hell. The map continues to grow, areas improved on, and the server itself upgraded from time to time.

As for staff not being active. I understand they have lives. When most were given the jobs of NM staff they had alot of free time on thier hands to work on the game. As they grow older and thier lives become full with things such as college and work they have less time to spending wiping our asses. I have lobbied for new staff a couple of times with STE being the person I would choose. I didn't do it because I felt that current staff didn't know thier jobs or had become corrupt. I did so because in a game such as this there is a need for active staff members. As the player base gets larger so do the issues. And as we have seen in recent months, if these issues aren't dealt with they just continue to get bigger.

But on the other side of the coin if we follow the rules and play the game it isn't that bad at all. I have discontinued sitting at the sgh and have disassociated myself with the ones known for stealing and causing drama. I log on to train and occasionally chat and find that the things that addicted me to the game are still there. I was just to consumed with worrying about what everyone else was doing that I let the true meaning of the "game" slip away from me.

If you don't want to smell like chit then don't play with assholes is my new motto. Try it and you will find NM is still full of life.

Well said.

I agree, that with an ever increasing playerbase the need for new staff increases - an issue that hasn't been dealt with in along time. I personally cannot see why they havn't hired-rehired staff to take care of the playerbase issues which seem to be ever so frequent nowadays.

As i've said before, and will always say - my services are always open to help develop/maintain this game, but as you know i've been turned down again and again - which I may add has never really been properly justified in my eyes.

But it's not my game.

I agree with Momba, the game is still the game. There are many fun things to do in game, many challenging adventures. Although there is a great increase in theft and so forth <frowns> there are still some great players out there. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem and have fun!

Good day,
