I wonder, are you afraid to die? Why so? Or why not?

We're all bound to die some time. I'm curious as to how I'll die. I think I know what I might die of.. unless someone comes along and kills me first. ;s

I'm not afraid to die. I'm afraid of how I'll die.

I must admit I never thought about it like that . . . and I agree fully

Death, the whole concept sort of interests me.

I think in life that there is a pattern. If you've seen the movie Final Destination, you know what I'm talking about.

Death is embedded in your destiny. How you die, though, is what you can't see coming. For example, you could possibly lead a long life till you die of old age or someone could go mad and kill them because someone had called that person something demoralizing. Things don't just happen, they're meant to happen.

Everyone is going to die at some point. You should just live life to the fullest and get the things done that you enjoy and want to do. Dont think about death just live your life. Death isnt a major thing when it comes it comes do just let it come when it is ready to.

I am not afraid of death i know it is comin sooner or later.

I have this quote from a book i had just read in English this year, "No one realizes life until they are already dead, they are blind in life."

Hmm, I agree with Vodka, I've never feared death, but now that I think about it, I would fear how I would die. I could go on about life and death forever, but I don't have the time, now :\

I welcome the thought of death. I don't care how or when I go, I'll be happy knowing I have left an impression on some, and my legacy will continue through another.

I have cheated him so much the grim reaper forgot me ask maha...lol

But seriously if i knew i was going to die it wouldn't scare me, In fact if my cancer was to ever come back and they were to tell me, even though when maha wakes up and reads this she will yell at me, I would rather death than to ever go through the chemo again.

i do not fear dieing at all. i do not fear death, i fear that if i die my pain won't be gone. most of you know my health sucks and that i'm in constant pain but what scares me and keeps me alive really is that i don't know if i will be better after death. maybe there is nothing and maybe i'll live forever with pain after i died. that's rpetty much the only reason i'm still here :P
Even in death my hate will go on

Am I afraid of death? No...

What I am scared of is having to die painfully. I want it to be painless and peaceful, but unfortunately we don't choose that ourselves.

Another thing that scares me is dieing before my kids are old enough to take care of themselves. The thought of them having to grow up without me scares me more than anything.

Death itself I do not fear, it comes to us all eventually. But yes, the way we die might be something to fear about.

Fear of death, is primordial and natural. It is also the one of the main causes of the supersition called religion.

The 'afterlife' was used as a comfort to our ignorant ancesters (and was a great way of keeping them in line as well, in that the bosses (priests, imans, whatever, could say, 'if you don't do what I say, you'll get the crappy afterlife!')).

But of course us enlightened 21st century people know better than to pander to such primitive, primordial fears, as spiders, heights and death!

And therein lies the paradox (and why supersitious religious mumbo-jumbo still holds such sway over our lives), because not to believe in an afterlife, or threat of a crappy one, makes the long, sleepless nights, very lonely indeed!

It is nice and comforting to believe in an afterlife and such. Thing is, religion has lost much of its control over society today, and though it has not been proven that there is an afterlife, it has not been disproven either.

it has not been disproven either.

As a lawyer (and therefore on the side of the devils) I have never been asked to 'disprove' anything. I either prove what I am saying or my argument fails, its as simple as that.

Sry for going off tangent.

Its probably our ego's that make us fear death. No other animal fears death because they have no concept of self.

A good thing to know is that you're living right now and have a life to live; wether it's here, in the outside world, in cubical, in a lab, or in an office. The point is that everyone has a role in their life and they should live it out the best they can. For example, if you were a doctor, you would do your profession the best you could. Right?

Everyone has a purpose in life and you might as well live up to it, though some people still don't realize it....

Well, not everyone realizes that they have a purpose. I've given myself some thought and I don't know my purpose. I do whatever I think is the best logical thing for me to do. The way I see it, is that whatever you do, you do your best at it; even if it's play nightmist, write stories, use your imagination, draw, make a movie, or something that could impact another person. There's lots you can do, you're the one to decide which one you like the most and do the best at.

You've been able to avoid that happening for 100000000000000000000000000000 times ever since you came into the world. So, I guess you've cheated your death that many times :P

Am I afraid of Death? No... Do I fear of how I might possibly die? No. I fear nothing when it comes to this topic. I don't even fear about dieing alone. People may think I'm a cold hearted person for this...but truthfully... I'm not. Some people want to die alone, some people don't. Sorry to burst the reapers bubble... but I am not afraid of him =D
