I'm on a new laptop with Windows 7. I like the system, but the F Keys are pre-set to do all kinds of stuff, such as mess with screen brightness, sound, etc.
I'm telling the system to run NM as an Administrator, but that has not changed the way the keyboard works. I also cannot seem to find anything in Windows Help or online that has solved the problem.
I've searched the Keyboard menu and Hotkey instructions, but I don't see anything that will let me change the settings.
Is there something I am missing that will fix this?
Thanks for any help,
Gaddy

Usually those keys only function that way if the Fn key is held down. It's not jammed down in some way, is it, or a software setting that leaves it permanently enabled or toggled?

Like Crane says, it sounds like your Function key is on by default. Turn it off.
