speaking for nightmist solo for the most part
alot of people complain that fighters are well, weak. that fighters have a lack of ability and are fairly useless, well i think thats wrong. maybe on nm main they are cause they're attacks dont do much dmg, do to all the armor buff's other characters have been given
but in nm1a it will be some time now before any class besides a druid or maybe cleric gets a nice amount of ac, (unless a mage gets aop before my mage does arg) so i think how about we think defence this time, how about fighters dont need to do more dmg or get an ability that raises their attacks damage, how about simple equips for fighters(possibly that allready exist) just give them more things to help them defence, such as wisdom for instance.
wisdom is a key stat for fighters, think about it, what character does a fighter become weak to? druids and mage's basicly, considering a fighter is allready affective vs a berserker, and thief and ranger
i feel that fighters are find the way they are, its their equipments that need to be raised, or give them as a class a bonus of 5-10% magic resistance or something of that sort, besides its not about who can throw the hardest punchs, its about who lands the most effective punchs, and can take the most effictive punchs
well thats my two cents, which dunno if any made sence but did to me lol iaght k peace, and any ideas or opinions are open plz?
Well How About Some Fresh Ideas

personally i think they're fine as they are. each class has it's own weaknesses against certain classes and strengths against another. you decide for your own what you want to use and what you want to use it for. if you want to give fighters resistance against the only thing that they're weak against, it just makes mages and druids less useful. you use the classes for what they can do. if you're really that concerned about fighting a mage, then just don't use a fighter for it. be smart and use another spellcaster

i use a mage lol, i just figure a fighter has a good chance vs a zerker, and thats about it and maybe thief, but clerics and pallys and druids and mage's(alltho mages on nm1a have low def duh to armor and aop hard to get so fighters hit good on them) all rape a fighter, thats alot to kill a single class
thought all class's supposed to be balanced, if so how come all them i said can rape a fighter and fighter has no chance unless its beefed up by a cleric with hance/rf and rounds em, anyways

you choose crits based on what you wanna do with them. no one trains a mage to take to bosses or train with other people. if you wanna give fighters extra magic resistance to help in pvp, why not lower the mp cost of mage spells to help with training? all you're doing is getting rid of the weaknesses. i'm not suggesting anything about mages, just using an example

Fighters are fairly well rounded and balanced.
It's the simple fact that they're the most boring characters I've seen, ever, on any game.
They truely have no skills or abilities, about the only skilled play you can do with them is hold stamina until after you are hit when using a vampiric weapon.
Fighters are the very definition of Nightmist though; hack and slash and hack and slash, while taking some hits.
I think it would be nice to see some skills put on them for at least the 1-alt version of the game, but they don't really need true improving, just something worth doing.

Wisdom is the principle thing. Therefore, get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding.

i think gaddy is right they should have a skill or two like say bash or a crippling blow
bash should do like 2 times the dmg but have less % of hitting and cripling blow should
do normal dmg but have a % to increase aponents stamina regen time by like .05 % whatever that may be

Offense belongs to the berzerkers, not the fighters. Fighters need something to allow them to really tank, such as the protect ability discussed elsewhere in this forum, or a defensive stance that increases armor at the cost of damage, accuracy, or stamina regen (like 1 less per regen period, ability quite disabling before level 4, perhaps not available until they have at least 2 stamina) similar to the zerker's rage.
