The last opportunity to receive customised items will be the 31st of August.

The reason for the extension is that many people have approached me and explained that 2 weeks wasn't enough time to get their affairs in order, and didn't give them much chance to donate for the incentive. The nice round figure of the last day in August makes it more reasonable for these people to donate, and I want it to be a little fairer on everyone.

I've also decided that the 31st of august will be DOUBLE EXP in honour of all those who have donated.

i tend to think that the custom items is sorta like going to a church and donating money to raise your reputation like in baldurs gate lol

if people are donating its cool that they get something for it but they should donate weather they get a custom item or not

if i had money id donate just to help out nightmist

i see where angelus is coming from, altho you are seen 2 be helping everyone who has not donated u have changed the rules for those people who have already donated with the perviously mentioned rule in mind (2 weeks) anyone with a sensible head, would leave donating to the latest chance possible to reduce increasing the bids at an early stage, and thus changing the rules, altho seeming to be more fair you are pushing the donations up, and pushing outs the people who have donated *shrugs*

Zelidos making ppl pay to play won't make the ppl change diablo ppl act like they do if they pay for it, it still stay the same just less ppl playing if you pay to play a game thats been free for so long it is odviously going to make alot of ppl quit donations is good but paying to play wouldnt b fair to some of the older ppl who played the game years and cant afford paying alot to play what has been free for so long there is a big difference in donating once in awhile to keep it running then b forced to pay to play and atleast donating gets some rewards paying to play however wouldnt get u anywere and would cause ALOT of ppl to quit

lol if the game goes p2p it has been sad it wouldn't cost alot. like maybe 10 cent a character a month. i think jlh once said that if the game would go p2p my donations would be good for playing the next 25 years or something

double exp is a nice idea, seeing as donating to the game, helps everybody, then everybody should benifit from it. I'll stand by you on that one pandi.

But technically Pandilex, we're buying an ingame item (since we're renaming it) for real life money.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that that's where the problem lays.

Everyone has to remember that JLH/Pandilex could quite easily create characters and sell them for real money- So they're hardly going to want anyone in game doing it, and the game lose out.

I wouldn't say it is buying an item with real life money, as the staff will be modifying an item that you possess already to have a custom name and description - nothing more. Then again, it might be compared to buying yourself a title.

Aren't those less than the normal ammounts donated to get pics?

I'd suggest making custom weapons like custom pics (buyable at any time for a certain ammount)....maybe something like 1.5 times the cost of a custom pic...

i would love to see a donating system, i.e 30 pounds can get you a custom pic, 100 pounds can get you a unique custom pic, 150 pounds can get you an interesting name i.e. a monsters name? or maybe all lowercase/uppercase letters or numbers maybe inside a set confine, 200 pounds can get you an item with a custom picture and name which you own?

ofcourse, i doubt you would be seeing someone donate 200 pounds at once, but maybe you can work up to it. the original owner who still has all his pics who gets to 200 pounds can trade in all his pics for the custom item maybe? or something like that

Oh how I wish I could just donate. But as it stands at the moment I have too many bills (child support which is WAY more important, rent, ect, ect) that eat my paycheck before I even see it. One of these days I will prolly get a paycheck that says I owe money to the business I work for.

As for all the comments about this little contest, come on ppl. I would like to see just half of you take on the bills of the server for just the time this contest runs. I doubt any of you would have many comments about how JLH and Pandilex get donations.

What a bunch of whining little arseholes, get over it people can rename a weapon the allready have. If some idiot wants to pay millions for it at a later date let them, it hardly worries me if the person has a BoT or a blade of herpies, not as if it is harder to drop them.

you people can argue about it all you want, but the bottom line is that you have no say. if it was your game, you could do whatever you wanted, but you dont own the game. you arent the one who has to pay a grip of money out of your own pocket each year. if it was yours, you would probably do somthing so that you dont have to pay as much. you should all be thankfull that the game is free. most people would probably make it p2p and make money off the game, or at least enough to get back all their money that they spent keeping it free. but pandilex and jlh are not doing this, stop complaining and be thankful not only to the staff, but to the donators who are helping to keep the game free. sure they get a custom item basically, but who cares.
and another thing, if you really think about it, its just a game, so get over it.
