My point is that it is better to make the pics yourself even tho they wouldnt be as good as something found on the internet made by real artist's.
As i see, it ends up like we have allready, that we have these pics of items that doesnt really look that they are made for the game but are just randomly found pictures that people like and they dont look as if they were made for the game, hell!! most of them doesnt even follow description of the item, which i find very annoying and disturbing, it all shows that this game doesnt even want to appear "professional" in visual aspects.
If it were up to me i would appoint few people to make all of the pics, in a way that someone makes weapons, other the armor and someone the mosnters ect. and they would discuss together when making the pictures to achieve the same general look of them, good example of this would be the giant centipede pictures both the monster and the gloves, when i made the gloves i wanted them to look as if they were really "made" from the monster so i copied the colors from the monster to the gloves.
whee i think ive had too much coffee today.
edit: oh and it has a pic allready ...

The pictures I have made...
Blade of Time was made with the original Blade of Time picture superimposed on top of a pocket watch followed by some tricks with colour and JPEG artefacts.
Giant Crocodile was made from a picture of a crocodile with its colour modified to a dirty green and put onto a blue/black background, then used Paint to give it yellow eyes, letting the JPEG algorithm blur them and make them look a bit more natural.
Blue Dragon (which was rejected) was a picture of a Green Dragon that I had picked up somewhere and modified to make it look blue. It looked nice, but looked very similar to a picture that already existed for an old Druid morph. And it was originally someone else's artwork... naughty Crane!
Poisoned Grape... a lot of manual work in Paint, then used the lighting features in Paint Shop Pro to give the image a bit of depth.
Steel Door... once again more manual work with Paint. I then used the "Fine Leather" effect in Paint Shop Pro to put imperfections in the metal surface (scratches etc.) and edge-blur so it is less aliased. It would have looked better if the image was bigger, but oh well.

But i allways try make them all by myself.
Its indeed very tricky to make pics for the game, and there are at least one of my pic that failed when put ingame, that would be the bow of prophecy which JLH messed up by making it smaller ( kb wise ) so its not as good as i intended to be but if someone can make a better one, please do.
I just hope theyll put enough effort on the pictures at start, when they make nightmist 2, so it wouldnt be as messed up jungle of pictures as it is in the original.
Oh, and i use photoshop from the start to finish.

A minion of the great Hedge Lord, this plant manifestation is shaped like a noble squire. He wields a small wooden sword. Looking into his eye sockets, you can see a dim red light. He quickly moves into an attacking stance, ready to attack. The Hedge Minion has been slightly wounded.

The Tomb Spirit is wearing a long teal robe over its tall body. Its facial spirits cannot be distinguished along with its transparent limbs. Its green eyes harshly hover over your body as it considers you an intruder. Its long arms hold a spiked staff, that dazzles your eyes with its laced diamonds. A small stream of breath escapes from underneath the spirit’s hood. The Tomb Spirit has been moderately wounded.
The Tomb gloves are made of the skin of those who perished here. Spirits who haunt the corridors of abandoned tombs wear the gloves to show pride in their prior existence. The gloves are slim and are dark black. They have rough contours and are edged with a silver lining.
That's the best i can do atm... start drawing p33ps

The Ring of Noel screams passionately for the holidays with its festive design. Two reindeers stand on their heels like proud stallions representing their colors. The ring itself is made of pure gold and gives off a reflection that could put Saint Nick’s wink to shame.

Teptok is a giant being that breathes only partially air. His face holds no characteristics as his patience with intruders is low. His fists are partially stone. One of his hands grasps a giant sword which is tainted the color of human blood. His roars are intimidating and keep one at guard. This is his world and he will not have mortals walking all over it. The Teptok has been mortally wounded.Ok, I'm interested in a few pics myself...
10k= Teptok (one that drops Seal thing, not regular warriors)
10k= Teptok Loyalists AND Teptok Warriors (could be similar pic, but give warrior a blade and loyalist and fiery axe)
The Teptok Warrior fights with passion for his leader. His skin peels harshly as pain simply satisfies this being. His face shows little emotion, but hate. The Teptok Warrior is in a healthy condition.
The Teptok Loyalist stands proud for his choice of life. His armor shines from an unknown source of life. Its face does not bring about a texture for there is an empty presence of soul. The Teptok Loyalist is in a healthy condition.

The high zoom stops the JPEG algorithm from corrupting the image so much... it will show at roughly one third of this size in-game.
