Either it wasn't in, it was in but you accidentally lost the Orb of Time, you took the route to Boar's Tusk Inn, or the Time Master killed off the only crit that had a spyglass and could go invisible, or a combination of these things!

I've done that before - now I make the effort to use my Druid, Titania, without the Orb of Time in her inventory, logging everyone else off a few squares before.
