Pking is my favorite thing about Nightmist and I still believe the loss of exp per death is rediculous. Yes I enjoy killing people and making them lose countless hours of training over and over and over again but that is what honestly kills the game. No one wants to bust there ass for weeks that can be wiped away in a few deaths.

I think the exp per death should be recapped and that their should be more rewards for pking.

Example: Reaching a certain amount of PK's could warrant titles, shop sold items obtainable only by those with X+ amount of Pk's etc etc.

I believe there are three reasons why the game has fallen off.

A.) its way to liner (you aquire the drops you need then its just grinding on your own for hours on end for levels that you don't even need due to no reward outside of stamina and hp)
B.) 35+ leveling (as you can see when the new leveling system for 31-35 came in more players reached the 35 "cap". Trying to force tokens is up-surd, Tokens should be the "quick and easy way
but their should be an alternate system)
C.) Dieing to 1 pk can mean hours of grinding to make up. The grind is bad enough without having to worry about losing everything you've accomplished that day in 1 death.

jordan i agree with you... and support what your saying. however the staff have known about these issues for years... literaly... years. and have done nothing to improve the game play or the quality/sustainability.

im not calling all staff lazy infact, there are few who do tons! but none of which apart from Crane have done anything to give new players a fighting chance... i simply ask that the pk level be lowered to 5 lvl's instead of 10 to somewhat improve game play and soforthe...

i suppose we could all rant and rave about how nightmist has gone from a world class game (worldwide) with a playerbase to a "under the radar" type game with a player base of about 30 people... it however sickens me that there are still a few people on this game that think everything is perfect... and oddly they are the ones who usually get what they want...

side note to staff... there are loads of people who have posted on this forum who would like to see changes... real changes... not just a new area/lvling items now and then... listen to your playerbase... its theire game as well!
if you do not have time or the knownledge to help nightmist/nightmisters then please step down. your doing no one anygood. if you have time to be on your regualar characters for more then an hour a day then you indeed have time to improve!

I think this is exactly what I had suggested, and it took a lot of flack . . .

Here's another suggestion that I had brought up a while back. . .

Shrink the PvP range from 20 to 10 levels (5 levels either way). This would make it so that in general (because there are some items with odd ball level requirements) there would only be a 1 tier difference in weapons and armor between any two players. PvP fights would be far more competitive. I know, I know, the chronic lowbie killers would be upset, as it is almost unheard of for them to fight someone of their own level. At the same time though, this would open up new possibilities for higher level characters.

The classes are more less balanced PvM, every class can go anywhere, provided there is a cleric of course. Where the unbalance is is in PvP, and in my opinion is the reason more level 35+ stamina, items, spells, abilities, etc. cannot be added. If devastate were introduced for example, a grandmaster mage could easily round an expert, even if it were to somehow resist or absorb some of the stamina. If the GM could attack no lower than a level 31, the outcome would be much less likely to be the same. A resist or two and a couple absorbs and the 31 would have the chance to drink potions and fight back, or flee. Devastate wouldn't be near as OP as it is with the current PvP range. The same would be true in many cases if there were more stamina, higher level items, spells, and abilities if the PvP range were just shrunk down to make for more even battles.

EDIT: And I know Nightshades will undermine this entire thing, but for lower levels and those who don't forgo 5k for a chance at a PK, this will even things out greatly. The other possibility is to remove Nightshades completely, but that's another entire topic.

It would allow for more development in terms of items and abilities. . . I don't think 1 or 2 more base damage on weapons, or a new spell for mages would disrupt the game all that much PvM, but it would in PvP, which is why we don't see anything new and uber released.

Are you thick? No staff can do any of the things you wish, only John can. The staff forum is filled with way more and better thought out plans then any of the crap you people post on a whim, and they all involve John's time, and as such only one of those things happen in a blue moon.
