Well, not necessarily noobs dying more, seeing as how they hit for like 6-7 max.
I think its just a little more annoying to have monsters following me through the forest on the run to Arilin, but ehh, not to much of a problem...

Has there ever been a mention of a time limit or anything like that? People are already planning to waste months of their lives with no real specifics given, seems odd to me.
I wouldn't mind stabbing you in the face, if that's cool with you?

a lvl1 initiate mage with 7 con gets 8 hit points. The magimox can *almost* round it, the bears will round it no probs.

Well, I'm going to bump a 7-month old topic! Even though my attention is focused on the 1-alt server a lot now, I am still collecting crystals on the Multi Server... so far, I have 5 Brilliant Crystal Shards and 9 Bright Crystal Chards, so I'm nearly 6% of the way there!!
Crystals on the 1-alt server are significantly harder to collect due to the lack of Magimoxes... they can still be obtained from Crystal Formations and the Crystal Giant though - any I obtain I just give to Soporette!

On a related note, recycling cans provides a similar return for your time. It's not too dissimilar actually, your main competition would still be people who have nothing to do with their time (homeless people) and guys who put together other people's work. If you'd spent several hours a day collecting cans, you could be atleast 7% of the way towards something.

Congratulations on bumping a two-year-old topic! Still, this is what I know of the crystal quest so far...
- Heritage crafted a Staff of Light and sold it to Disaster.
- Sleeping crafted a Staff of Light and is probably using it himself.
- I am currently at 77% progress towards the staff.
- Aeryn's status with crystals is unknown, but he has killed Genevieve quite a bit.
