My point is, all the flaming here needs to stop. Suddenly everyone is jumping on Aidon, based on the belief he PURPOSELY banned Jen for biased reasons. Instead of jumping on an issue like they did, people need to leave this up to JLH and Pandilex and stay the heck out of this whole thing. I didn't start posting until the Aidon flaming started to get totally out of hand.

Does it not say on the tos of this forum that if you have a problem with staff, to take it to JLH and Simon via email? Doesn't Simon repeat again in this threat that violators will be banned? It also says the same in game when you first log on, yet people break that rule left and right.

People need to shut up, before JLH and Pandilex enforce those rules, simple as that. The only person with access to the full truth is the person who has access to logs anyway, so give the bickering a rest and take it to JLH.

Jen what story? u got banned for like 1 min big wow. You had nothing to do what happend between me and kim nor were online when it happend. I Asked for Aidons help because he was there listneing to kim speak his mouth off at sgh how i took his acct and stuff yet all he did was give me his p/w.

And now Obviosly my acct p/ws were changed by someone cuz of this. Now one of the accts u have u have cuz i "Gave" u the p/w along time ago. You see me crying to JLH about that acct after figuring out what happend? NO since i GAVE u the p/w just like kim GAVE me the p/w see how they are both the same? Yet u freely get to keep my account while im stuck with my accts with their passwords somehow "Changed"

Now to finish this ONLY post im going to do. And before people start to flame. NO i did not give anyone my p/w. NO i do not have a keylogger. AND NO i was not hacked nor Someone guessed my p/w becuase it was 3 diff acts and 1 was created the same day it was taken and not even on my p/c and had a diff p/w

And to u Jen: How can u try and defend someone cuz i took his acct when u are doing the same thing? Hypocrit

You admit that you took Kim's account pfffttttttttttttttttttt. Why in the hell would you do it? No I'm not asking for your reasons considering you admitted that you did it. I just cant believe that you actually did it and that you are calling someone else a hypocrit yet you have said that you arent a thief and hate thieves. This entire chain of events sickens me. I hope you are very proud of yourself rob, you stole from someone that would never steal from anyone, someone that trusted you.

Maha im not trying to flame you, but the reason that all these people are "jumping on Aidon" is because of the fact he takes his job too seriously, he's banned people for the most unjust things in the past, and when JLH has been msg'd about it (like the TOS says we should do) nothing happens, so then we bring it here, to the nm forum, where we think at least the public will see it and realise what is happening. But to be perfectly honest i think Gaddy summed this all up nicely, Aidon has been complained about, flamed, hated more than any other staff member so now surely there must be a reason more than him banning everyone.

To me its a classic example favoritism, flame me ban me for saying it, i dont care because its the truth, and it needs to be said, since every other time it has been said either him or simon has deleted the post.

If half of the people even posting on this were to sit at the south gate house when aidon and his "friends" are logged on, you would see exactly what i meen. Aidon even replied to kim with "just cry noob, im going back to WoW" when he told him about his account being stolen from him, is that REALLY how nm staff should act? i think not.

But im sure this post will be deleted like the others so, carry on.

It seems that people on Nightmist have to go for reading classes as well. That should improve their reading comprehension. Because some people read and twist others words so easily it's quite funny.

Oh and this is the Cyric saga all over again, he was also claimed to be the "most hated" staff member. But now I see people saying "He was a good staffer" This will be the same in year to come.

It's the same thing that happens on funerals... Who ever said something bad about a person on their funeral? No one people want to be polite no matter how much they hated them in life.

So when/if Aidon ever gets dropped off staff people will turn around and speak fondly about him just like the case with Cyric, Long live Cyric

I find it amusing how Rob and those other fags openly admit stealing and ripping Kim off, and a staff member goes running in on their side against a fellow staff member. Now let me get this right, you listened to him based on his honesty and integrity as a person lol? The moron just ripped someone off on a text based game lmao... It honsetly doesn't get lower and lamer than that.

A normal person would point and laugh or totally ignore his calls for help.

Somewhat like she did to me when I got banned by her a year or so ago?

Cyric was also 1 of the original's, not many staff were before him to know who was better or worse, this isnt the past there have been a few new staff to come and go since he's been gone. Frankly i always liked cyric regardless of what anybody says, i miss all the oldies but i know we wont get them back, so at least try and find someone more suited for the position.

Maybe the wording wasn't too nice, but in the end, what did you expect Aidon to do? It was clearly stated that staff will not get involved in cases of theft due to sharing, so if Aidon had turned around and helped Kim, the cries for favoritism would have been there as well. Perhaps he should have worded things differently (something along the lines of "I am sorry, but I am not allowed to help you, since you gave out your pass"), but in the end, no matter how he said it, he couldn't have helped Kim in any way.

How should NM staff act? If you ask my personal opinion, I DO believe that even if people share, staff should get involved in thefts, that way Kim would already have his crits back by now, but unfortunately I am not the one making the rules. Maybe it took someone as respected as Kim getting ripped off like this before people realize that the current policy isn't appreciated by players. I find it rather funny how when a not so well known or disliked person gets stolen from and complains about it, people tell him just what Aidon appears to have said to Kim. Posts of "just cry noob" are the usual reply to anyone else in that situation, yet now that it happened to Kim, I see nothing but "staff needs to do something about this" posts. It is even funnier when it was Jen herself telling me that a friend of mine was at fault himself for sharing, when all I asked her to do is to temporarily freeze an account that was in the middle of being stolen, so I could get a hold of the rightful owner, and now it having been her who said that Kim shouldn't be allowed to be stolen from.

Don't get me wrong, Kim is a friend of mine as well, and you can ask both Rob and Rafa how I pleaded they should give Kim his crits back, but if there is a policy, it needs to be applied to ALL cases.

It's nice to see threads get out of hand, will you people get back on topic?

And as for me contributing to all of this, I was the person who got the ball rolling... I guess I should be the one to TRY and stop it.

As I stated previously in threads on Forums "It would be nice to sit down and have a civilised conversation about this without all the blabla bla etc etc"

I got my request granted and it was very fulfilling on many levels, I will know kindly ask anyone who doesn't have anything to do with the Issues at hand to please back off.

If anyone else feels like they didn't get their chance to have their say, do it swiftly and carefully.

For those of you who repeatedly have posted for and against different things I bid you to leave it at that, since there is no use for going over the same old topics over and over again.

It is not for myself that I make this last post on this topic, but for the game, no matter how many things in it I might disagree to, the game is still awesome when it's at it's best, which this does not help.

Thanks to all who have posted and had their say... I'm sure we'll find another topic to rant about in a near future.

i have stayed off this topic for many reasons....i wont name them....but it is sad to see so many people against so few....being staff on a game sucks....you have to have some thick skin to survive even one day....and i think everyone of the staff will agree with that.....they abuse they take is totally horrible ...but yet day after day week after week they come back and continue to run the contests and the quests and special events.....these issues when the become public have a habit of becoming flame fests.....that is a waste of time ...nothing gets resolved by name calling or anything to that effect.....i know that some of the reasonsthey stay staff is because of the few within the player base that make it worth...to allof those people out there stay strong.....and to the staff keep it up and smile once in a while....

Maha, I suppose it is good for at least someone to be defending Aidon since everyone has been on Jen's side.

But you don't really seem to be hearing what anyone is saying. You just keep saying he's staff and that's reason enough to leave him alone, but we want action taken. He's done things that make it hard for me to consider him very respectable, and others are saying that in different words.

Jen will be sorely missed in many ways, and I think NM's got problems if Admins will simply let her go without trying to handle the situation more seriously.
So, I hope JLH follows through with the comment of intending to talk to her- several times.



And as for what I expect of NM staff-
To be here to keep Nightmist entertaining and fair/within the rules.
Even though I've shared before, I completely support the rule about theft. If you give out your password, you are giving out your account. Why should staff members have to deal with people who know those rules? I'd rather have them spend time on things to make the game more fun than looking through logs of things a person basically gave away.
If you stay at SGH banning people, woopti do. I don't think it's something we need all the time, but get rid of the people who can't help but sit around swearing for no reason...GOOD.
Make an area so people have something new to do, AWESOME, but we can't have a new area put in all the time obviously.
Show respect towards players, and if they do something that causes you to want to be a jerk towards them, they've probably earned a dayban anyway.
Show us that you are active. Do staffers really have to hide all the time? You could at least go DND to show us that you're at least around sometimes.

How strange. Aidon was a very vocal critic of staffing policy when Cyric was fired. He knew very well the way the politics of Nighmist worked, and yet the allure of power was more than he could stand. He should have seen this coming. He thought he could avoid the bloodletting though by joining the right clan and becoming friends with the right people.

Dirty politics have a way of staying just like that. When a new player tries to join ranks, it's a crap shoot. All the more reason to stay away.

The politics of Nighmist could kill a game that in so many ways is an excellent environment. I play because I enjoy the actual game, not so much of the other stuff that comes with it.
