You can brag on the duel/clan wars forum by posting your kills if you feel the need to do that. There is no need to page someone you killed, on the contrary./nod alone
and what im saying is all we have 2 brag about is our pking/dueling abilities....so if we cant brag bout that...what can we brag about?
Also there is a lot more to brag about in game if you feel the need to brag: Killing a boss, discovering and mapping out a new area, having trained a crit to arch, winning moshes and other tournaments.
My point was not to stop people from telling about their achievements, but to stop bringing those into totally unrelated topics, or bringing unrelated topics into talking about them. When two people are discussing their last duel, there is no need to talk about what job they have, what car they own or what they look like, just like there is no need to threaten with pking someone because he doesn't like the president of your country.
I hope I made my point a bit clearer for you this time.

Regardless, I do my part to keep NM a nice place by doing my part and not trying to make others do theirs. I generally stay away from SGH unless I sneak over for a few to see who all's on and what they're talking about, but then I just go back to my areas and explore/play NM. On occasion I'll PK someone, but I've always returned whatever they dropped out of respect for the person, and to help them realize that it was just out of fun and it's just a game. I've never paged them back with a taunt. Ever. You'll know just how kind of a nightmist person you are when you can return 40k after rightfully PKing someone and not rubbing it in their face.
The point I'm trying to make with this post is to do what you do and dont try to change others. If they're acting raunchy, so be it. /ignore player. If you all know who's worthy of being ignored and put them on your ignore list, pretty soon they'll be a mime and they'll realize it. No fun playing NM alone.

That's not even mostly the fault of the person being jumped. So don't get me wrong. They are training or have a lot of gold on them 99% of the time.
We've always jumped people who were training, but now people seem to carry on about it. The old players just got paged with a ton of insults and such; now it's the person jumping someone who is training who pages talking crap as if they've done something that half of NM couldn't have done equally well.
Rather than the old fights where people just went south and had it out, we've got more of player wars. I see multiple people take huge parties south with full spells; then they rant and rave about how they 'owned' someone or some group...with the types of crits we've got now, duels really work, but I'd like to see people calm down about them. Fights are cool, but we don't need everyone infected with their own version of what Rappy use to always do.
We need someone who can actually show people this is just a game. I tell people I don't take NM as more than a game when they pissy with me, but they just talk more then...the only really good way of getting them to shut up I've ever had luck with is simply saying- "Stop paging me. I will contact staff about harrasment if you persist because this simply isn't worth it to me."
Most of NM is fairly decent if you're on their good side, but sometimes it's just too frustrating to make alliances with a load of people. nuts happens and people go crazy or whatever.
I've gone on long enough, yet again.
Peace,
Gaddy

No actually see said it perfectly, go get reading lessons if you can't understand english.
If you are not discussing dueling or pking and then there is no need to even attempt to bring the words STFU or i'll pk you noob, when you can't win the fight r discussion with a clear yea your right.. You can brag all you want, but for even a second to believe that because you can steal ten minutes of internet data, and that alone will win an arguement about our cars, is both stupid and childish, she meant exactly what she said.

Maybe dognapot's puppets will be better at this:
Willy the Worm: My car is faster than yours, I have 180 horsepowers.
Sizzle the Snake: My car only has 60 horsepowers, but it's faster than yours! If you don't agree I will just pk you!
You see, Willy will still have the faster car, no matter what Sizzle says. Threatening to pk Willy was simply uncalled for, it only makes Sizzle look stupid.
Willy the Worm: I pked you in the zeum last night, haha!
Sizzle the Snake: You just did it because you work for McDonalds and earn only 5 bucks an hour.
Once again, please note that Willy's income is in fact totally unrelated to his pk, an uncalled for comment by Sizzle, yet again making him look stupid.
I hope you got it this time, if not, you just might be a hopeless Sizzle.

You have no idea what your talking about. Petes is one of the only places where these arguments dont break out. The only arguments we hear in petes is: Lmao only nubs hit and run petes. Or: It took you that long to kill me.pete's is a problem, get rid of it. player attitude towards eachother is low, because if they want they can fight without fear of losing xp, which is rediculous. if people are wanting to get rid of the BS, get rid of the sources of it. Petes is one place thats desposable, some others, such as sgh, let them be. if you dont like whats being said there, leave. this is what ive done.
EDIT: And if you dont like whats going on in petes then you can leave.

/nod so truelol I have been on this thread like 30 minutes, and have backspaced 100 times.
I was going to start by saying be more specific as to who you are refering to, but then I already knew and I am sure the other players do too.
Then I was going to rant about a topic such as this that was posted on the old forums over 2 years ago. Then I realized that the same person we are talking about today is the same person we talked about 2 years ago. They are still here and the person who started the topic is long gone. So that defeated the whole reason for me starting my post that way.
Then I started over with the thought that if you have a problem with a player that you email JLH unedited text of actual NM conversations in where you feel you have been verbally abused. Then I realized that gets you no where either.
Then I reflected back to a time when where you sat defined the type of player you were. That kind of seems the best way to approach this concidering none of the above ideas worked.
SGH has always been the spot where the nuts talkers gathered. But not just any ole type of nuts talker. These were generally the weaker nuts talkers. The ones who would use personal information to make you look stupid infront of everyone on the square, but would rarely log on an alt for a duel. This one has always been the most popular even for those not talking nuts because is was often the most humorous.
Arilin Gates were filled with people who liked to train. They would often take thier little rangers and druids into the forest hacking away at the big bad bear until someone pked them and then they would bring thier big bad arch army who had until this time sat idle at the gates awaiting a chance to shine. This area also attracted alot of attention, but generally only after a clan would violate they unwritten nopk rule. Then the good times would begin and huge clan wars would be fought at the 4 way. Pots and mana flying every place.
Sewer Entrance #1 was for the bad asses of NM. The ones who talked super smack and wasn't affraid to back it up. If you got the best of them clannies would be called in and some of the best battles ever fought in NM was 1 square down into the sewers.
NGH was genrally your less experianced players. They too would have thier own little mini wars. And would often go untouched by larger more powerful clans. The more powerful players would in most cases just sit back and watch the show so to speak. One of my most memorable moments was at the NGH. While in Crooked Halos myself and several clannies decided to goto the Orc Caves and train. We made what we at the time thought was the most powerful party thier was. This to discourage others from PKing us. But there was a form of evil that just wouldn`t leave us alone. That evil came in the form of a crit named Kalypso. She began tracking our party and simply just would not leave us alone. So we came up with this bright idea that we would take her one north of the northgate house and teach her who was the boss. That didn't work. She on only 1 crit slaughtered our party. As the leader of the party I felt bad. Because the only thing I could see on my screen was pots and mana flying, my clannies being returned to our clan house, and two simple words echoed throughout our clan chat by almost everyone, "Go south!!!!"
One day all this came to a halt tho. It was the day pacifist were created. You couldn't goto the 4 way anymore to battle without a paciing casting JZ ruining all the fun, you couldn't goto sewer #1 to settle personal differances or call other players out without an invis paci and JZ on the square. No one wanted to train in the forest any longer because it is just a sure fired way to get pked and pretty much can't do anything about it. And last but not least you couldn't settle it at a boss. You honestly have no clue how humble players can be knwoing they want to be able to get a shot at a crystal ring or sand wurm hide. You take the pacis out and watch how well people start acting towards one another knwoing that one slip of the tongue means your gonna get popped at the next boss.
I'm not going to suggest getting rid of pacifist (but I would like them gone). What I will suggest is letting were you sit define the type of player you are. There are hundreds of safe squares in this game. Choose one that suits your own personal needs for conversation. Hell be the first one there and define what kind of square you want that to be. Most of the verbal abuse comes from the SGH. Lets be the better player and step away. I personally am going to sit in the fountain in Resthaven.

i think it's ironic that we discipline players for using vulgarities and simultaneously design game features and classes to protect and heighten a players ability to act in vulgar ways towards other players.
i think we shouldn't so obviously give players the ability to be rude and disrespectfull to everyone else with such impunity. because 99.99999999%(this means all of us) of nighmist is really really stupid (!), these features should not be!

Well yes, I quite agree, there is no need to page someone after pking them, but let's just assume Willy ran into Sizzle at SGH and Sizzle said he is the better player, so Willy replied by saying he killed Sizzle. But maha, is it right for willy to brag about pking? He killed him its over thats all there is to it i agree with half of that but paging people say hah i pked isnt so great either :\

/clap!Zelimos, please read the whole thread or nothing at all before throwing comments in. We are trying to work on things to make them better, and staff is now also putting an effort into weeding out bad attitudes. Considering you don't play anymore, I don't think it is your place to post with negative comments and no suggestions for solutions.

Right, and you've known me since when?lol, just ignore Zelimos... hes just stupid tbh.
If I was the stupid one, I'd be the one moaning about players attitudes in a game. A game is supposed to be enjoyable is it not? Why do you provoke yourselves by staying here in the community, allowing these people to anger you? Surely the better alternative would be to look elsewhere for a better game. I don't care if you call me silly names, I can live with that. No, I do not play anymore, but I am allowed to say whatever opinion I have in mind, just like everybody else does here. It's an open community, which means I may be a part of it without question unless I am to break any given rules. So far I have broken none, only did what other people on this thread are doing, giving opinions. If you can't handle it, I'm sorry.
I personally don't believe it is up to the staff to babysit you all, I believe children of your ages should know right from wrong by now.

How does that class as an opinion? It added nothing to the discussion and proves that you are once again screaming out for attention, well you got it now. Shame it's the type not to your liking. Don't care what they say about you? Why bother replying to it then?god, you guys are still moaning about people PKing you... hahaha.
If I was the stupid one, I'd be the one moaning about players attitudes in a game.
Ahem. lol Sounds like you are moaning player attitudes.just came to see how the community was doing and saw this thread... guess it answers my question.
Anyway
The way this post has gone off-topic proves Lady Maha's original point. There was absolutely no point for it to jump from a conversation about the falling standards in Nightmist to someone that left the game a while back trying to flame people for trying to make the game better. Personally if you have quit the game, how can you comment on the game's users when all the information that you obtained about what is happening in Nightmist is from this forum - The source of 90% of all trash talking in Nightmist. If you have quit the game and still post on the forums, fine. Just don't bother posting stupid comments on a serious discussion about ingame affairs.
Yes I am aware that I am contradicting myself about going off-topic on this thread but I still have to ask why did it go off-topic in the first place?
