Why do you people get sick of watchign it on TV? Because you feel guilty about sitting in a safe spot, not caring?

There are so many people dead, mothers, fathers, children... and they were all human, not gooks, not blacks, HUMAN.

What would you do if you were in their shoes? Who are you to say it won't happen to you? This is not about putting a few houses back up, this is about getting financial aid to clean the water so people won't spread diseases, since they are all currently drinking water that had dead bodies swim in it for days, causing more and more people to die. This is about getting them medication, helping those children who have lost their parents, this is about human compassion, which some of you appearently don't have!

I am really disappointed and sad that some of you just care about disasters when they happen to you. I am sure you would be glad for some help, some publicity that might get you such help, and I can only hope for your sake that if this should ever happen to you, the people watching aren't as selfish and coldhearted as you.

To answer the topic question, probably so far, but who knows what is to come...

Anyway the worst natural disaster is the polar cap melting at an increasing speed. This is the worst unexpected disaster to affect multiple countries resulting in an extrordinary death count.

lmao

I fail to see where this is funny unless your taking it out of context. That second sentance was directed towards the Tsunami, not the polar cap.

Do please grow up.

Edit: Just donated $2000 U.S.

Well it looks like it is reffering to the polar ice cap melting, due to your use of this. I was laughing at that, and I still am. I also find it funny that you're telling me to grow up, yet you think the worst natural disaster is the polar ice cap and its alleged melting.

older news but, excerpt from a NY Times publication.

The North Pole is melting.
The thick ice that has for ages covered the Arctic Ocean at the pole has turned to water, recent visitors there reported. At least for the time being, an ice-free patch of ocean about a mile wide has opened at the very top of the world, something that has presumably never before been seen by humans and is more evidence that global warming may be real and already affecting climate.

The last time scientists can be certain the pole was awash in water was more than 50 million years ago.

What about the people that are forced to live by the beaches.

Some people, especially the ones lost in this disaster are not as fortunate as us, in that they don't get to make as many choices as we do in regards to living arrangements.

Yes it is the worst natural disaster in 'modern' times, we know this so I believe this poll was a bit tasteless. I'd love to help the people out there, but I know I can't just up and go down there and help. When people are using the argument 'well they didn't care about 9/11' try thinking not as an American for once please? I'm from the UK, we cared about 9/11 and I'd hope if we have a natural disaster over here people would care about us as well. Also 9/11 was hardly a natural disaster was it?

(On the bit about the poles melting, yes they are melting but if you actually looked into it you would find it is a natural occurance and happens in 3000 year cycles, with every 12000 years being a larger flood, and guess what: the last one happened just over 12000 years ago)

Ok... up until today I havent cared one bit what any of you say... but this time you have really pissed me off... How can so many people be so selfish that you do not care what happens to people and their homes and loved ones? When I opened this thread and read what alot of you have said... makes me pretty pissed off... You dont care what happens until it happens to you... then u want sympathy.. I can't believe what this game is made of now days... a bunch of selfish idiotic immature brats.

Thank you to those who have donated and cared. People like you make the world better. I will be donating as much money as I can when I get some cash.

And as of the 9/11 terrorist attack, you may be sick of hearing about that 2... but people, such as myself, want to hear more about it. I find it rather interesting.

My great grandpa(109) Still remember the earthquake that hit San Fran. Cali. When he heard about the Tsunami in the Old Folks Home, he started screaming and wheeling around the halls saying the Earthquakes are coming to get him.(Kind of sad when you think about it) But this Tsunami was like... Harsh. I feel all sad that i cant do nothin about it, scept donated $1,000 dollars to some fund down here in Oklahoma to the Boy Scouts something or other.

Knowing my luck the next Disaster of Nature will be a tornado the size of Rhode Island ripping through Oklahoma... I hope i didnt just jinx myself.

The number of fatalities are so high it is hard for the mind to even consider the numbers and know what to feel. It's unfortunate that Joseph Stalin was right when he said "one death is a tragedy; a thousand deaths is a statistic."

From what I have heard, if the Arctic ice-cap melts, the ocean water levels will not actually change, as it is water (ice) on water. It is if Antarctica starts melting that people should be concerned, because that is ice on rock, and the sea levels will rise if a slab of ice falls into the ocean.

As for the disaster itself, it has struck my heart, and aside from the coins I have thrown into charity buckets, I will donate a sum of money; it is the least I can do.

This really is quite sickening. I was just wondering why so many people have such a total disregard for life here. I frequent a few different forums, the tsunami is brought up often in a lot of them, but such utter disrespect hasn't been shown as it has here, and then it dawned on me why that is; when you consider how hard it's likely to be to feel sympathy when tragedy like this hits if you're yet to actually experience life, it makes total sense why several members of this community are so unaffected by it in comparison with the rest of the world.

Don't worry though, I'm sure in a few weeks it'll blow over and the media will get back to reporting on what really matters to you. How inconsiderate of the hundreds of thousands of people that died to do so when you're waiting for news about your favorite celebrities.

I donated 200 American to help over there, because its only right to care.

After 9-11 went down, I was on an aircraft carrier, heading through the Mediterranian Sea, and I witnessed the most touching thing I had ever seen. A German warship was cruising by, and requested permission to pull alongside. After pulling to the side of our ship, they lowered their German flag, and raised an American Flag. It really goes to show you how much other countries did mourn
9-11, and that it is only right TO CARE.

Little things like that are what make people stop and think.

It's just too bad some of you have too little REAL LIFE experiences, and only care about what goes on in your little part of the world.

Get off your computer and go outside. Do something. Get a life.

honestl;y i don't give a nuts about them ppl. i didn't donate and i don't plan to either it's not my problem (and i dun care if i just offended you or not) and about the biggest disaster ever i voted no. i think for example the thing that made all the dino's die was a bigger disaster if it would happen now million maybe even billions of ppl would ahve died. also if the levi-schoemaker (sp?) meteor would have hit earth it would have been alot worse then the tsunami. what about tsjernobyl (sp?) 10 years after that there were/are still misformed children getting born.

honestly i think the world is getting too crowded and that we are mooseing up the planet. i'd say we need to lose another 50 - 100 million ppl.

don't bother bitchin at me for what i just said i honestly don't care about your opinion i'm just getting sick of you ppl all acting like saints
