ELI M. BORDEN, Ph.D.

What is greater than God and more evil than the devil; the poor have it, and the rich need it, but if you eat it, you'll die? “NOTHING.” NOTHING is greater than God, and NOTHING is more evil than the devil. The poor have NOTHING, and the rich need NOTHING. If you eat NOTHING, you’ll die after a period of time.

Nothing.

Correcto! And the first to answer!
I was aware that it was not a logic question, by the way.
But in a way, like logic, it takes a fair amount of inference in order to reach a conclusion. This question, which qualifies as a riddle, causes the brain to go through near the same process as a logical mind. Making it valid for a certain logical reasoning.

Anyhow, back to the logic questions.
We'll cast off again with a fantasy logic problem that I hope you'll enjoy :( .

Question #7:

Twinkle, the fairy, was having a bad day. She was falling out with all her friends over the most ridiculous of things. What time did she fall out with each friend, what type of being were they and what was her problem with each?

Name: Asher, Boleyn, Cherry, Dasha, Flo
Time: 7:00am, 7:30am, 8:00am, 9:00am, 10:00am
Problem: Laughed, Looked at her, Spoke to her, Telephoned her, Woke her
Type of Being: Dragonfly, Dwarf, Elf, Fairy, Pixie
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The telephone call was a problem to Twinkle, as she was in the bath at the time, before being spoken to was a problem.

Twinkle was angry with Asher as she looked at Twinkle in a way that Twinkle thought was disrespectful. This was not at the latest time & Asher was not a Dwarf.

Boleyn, another fairy, caused Twinkle to have a problem exactly 30 minutes after the Dragonfly caused a Twinkle to have a problem.

The Dwarf, who didn't cause Twinkle to have a problem at 9:00am, had laughed in Twinkle's presence and this had caused Twinkle to believe that she had something wrong with her face for some strange reason.

Cherry, who was not an elf, caused Twinkle to have a problem exactly one hour after Flo caused Twinkle to have a problem, but Cherry did not wake Twinkle up and Flo was not an elf.

The problem Twinkle had at 8:00am was not caused by being looked at or telephoned, but was caused by either Asher or Dasha.

The Pixie did not annoy Twinkle by waking her up after she had just fallen asleep again.

Superb! You've managed to figure it out correctly!
I say, we have some smart people in the community here, that can comprehend and figure out. Or some people that already know the answer. Impressive work.
Now, to further it, I shall up the difficulty.

I like riddles, they're more fun, they trick the brain, rather than make it think normally :(

Absolutely correct!
And you're also correct about this puzzle taking many forms over many years.
Impressive work.
But now, just for fun, let's have a question that doesn't have to do with logic. Something that perhaps none can answer. But if you've heard the question before, :( , you'll know what I mean.

Question #9 (non-logical): And the category is Hydromagnetic Magnetoidal Dimensions.

I thought that question would lighten the mood for everyone.
Because the next question I'm going to ask you is one that is from the Harvard Review of Philosophy. Supposedly, the Hardest Logic question of all.
Now, I know that most of you will google this, or askjeeves it, or some other search engine that links the words you type in to a certain internet location, but I put this question on here for the sake of one of you to claim fame with your own intelligence or for the sake of actually learning something.
I wish you all good luck who want to actually solve this puzzle, the best of luck.
I shall proceed.

Question #10:

Three gods A, B, and C are called, in some order, True, False, and Random. True always speaks truly, False always speaks falsely, but whether Random speaks truly or falsely is a completely random matter. Your task is to determine the identities of A, B, and C by asking three yes-no question; each question must be put to exactly one god. The gods understand English, but will answer all questions in their own language, in which the words for "yes" and "no" are "da" and "ja", in some order. You do not know which word means which.

Ok...I'll take a stab.

Wow...this is incredibly difficult. lol. I just sat here for at least 10 minutes and I've had to cross off every idea I've had.

I need you to clarify... Da and Ja are the words for yes and no, but I don't know which one means yes and which ones means no? I just know those words are the equivilent of either yes or no?

Yes, and I'll clarify it a bit.
"Da" would equal yes, and "Ja" would equal no. I understand what you might mean when you see 'You don't know which word means which'. This is because it is said in a language you might not understand, depending on their language.

Here's an old riddle... fans of Sonic the Hedgehog may know this, as it appears in an episode of SatAM!

I run and run but never hide;
I am often looked at but never seen;
And people panic when they do not have enough of me.
What am I?

ADDENDUM: Question #10 has me totally confused!

You: Is 2+2 4?
God A: Ja

You: Is 2+2 4?
God B: Da

You: Is 2+2 4?
God C: Da or Ja

This is just an example, but no matter what you ask them, will it be impossible to tell the truth teller from the random if they both say the truth? Unless you ask them questions about each other. I'm just a little child, but I really can't quiet understand it.

#10 is kinda similar to that other puzzle with only 2 of em, and you have 1 question. You have to ask like "If i asked the other dude some question, what would he say?"

So i assume for this one you'll have to do likewise :(

Would try myself but i need to go to bed
